I guess I don't understand custom plates that repeat badging already on the car.

How about things like NITRITO, BASSO, DOLCE, ULARE?

No offense, but I always laugh at personalized plates that mimic what's already on the car. In this case (I assume) you already have the 308 GTB badge on the rear fascia. We have a tradition of naming our cars and then putting that on the personalized plate. Unfortunately, my state doesn't permit personalized collector plates. That said, here's a few off the top of my head based on the car itself:
    1) FLY GTB
    2) FLY LOW
    3) CCCVIII
    Good luck!

    Steve,

I was thinking something like GIALLO, but it's not available:(

I would like to incorporate 77 in it to maybe cut down on the "What year is it?" questions!

I went through all the same ideas. I was pondering playing with the Fly Yellow and some of the interesting history of the origin of the color name (it’s on FChat somewhere). In the end, I figured the year and the fact that it’s a GTB (even though it says so) might be the most interesting for people who associate the body style with Magnum’s GTS.

When I bought my '89 328 GTS in '08 my daughter asked me if I was going to get a custom plate for it. "No,"I said, "I don't like calling attention to myself!" "Dad," she replied, "You're driving a RED FERRARI, I don't think the license plate will make it more noticeable."

She was right, of course, but I just went with what Maryland and then Texas decided as to my plate's configuration! ;)

    Tommy,

    • Letter O will automatically convert to numeric 0.
    • 308 GTB - This text is unavailable because it matches another plate type format.

IMO, restating what the car obviously is on the plate directly next the model emblem is redundant and kinda boring.

Have fun with it! I had to pay homage to the Italian heritage of my '89 GTS.

"BELLA 89" ("beautiful 89" en Inglese, as in 'ciao bella!'). Some people get it - mostly women.

That's interesting because I have Tifoso on my Alfa Spider. The O's are 0 and I always thought that was a key in error on the DMV's part. I had no idea
