I also own a Ducati 916 (instagram @75ChevLagunaS3) and it has been a "piece of art" since 2006. Back in 2003 for awhile it was actually in my livingroom! Classic, beautiful design.

I'm on the point of buying a Panigale 1299R Finale Edition. Explosive ride, stunning look and last and biggest Ducati V2 ever made, probably a collector.
The legendary V2 survived (although detuned, since the V4 took the place of top performance engine) - until now, when it's replaced by a new, smaller and not desmodromic V2 (the chassis also drops the signature mono arm for a more conventional set-up). So there is now a Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition to mark the end of this story that began with the 1098; without being too ambitious, I went for one of the last Streetfighter V2 of this lineage (with the desmo superquadro engine and the rear mono arm). I took delivery of my new bike on December 24th
Beautiful... but to stay true, it would almost have to stay in the crate and don't think my wife would let me put that in the living room.
