Is there a new car that's not horrid. By that I mean insipid eps steering and fugly tv screen dash. A car that still lets you drive without intervening and is more than joyless.

the only two I can think of is a base grand Cherokee and a Alfa(soon to depart.

Short of porches everything else just look like crap and is worse inside.

Get a truck. Jeep is awful for reliability and build quality. Alfas and Masers are depreciating trash. Lose 40-50% in under 2 years?

We can only dream about them here in the States.

'New' car, yes, they are out there, just looked on Autotrader, advanced search (to search everything with max model year 2016 as that is approx cut off for a lot of this EPS junk, etc) and then sort on mileage, some nice finds. They are 'new' in terms of being delivery miles, but are old in terms of production...you might just find what you want.

Integra type s (with stick shift) looks like a nicely executed package.

I just bought a Lexus IS500 which isn’t perfect- and I love it for that! Non-turbo Japanese 5.0 V8 that sounds great, Lexus reliability, no auto start stop BS etc. Jeckle and Hyde car- like a Lexus driving normally, when you hit the go pedal it’s a beast. Not as fast as an M3 but quite fast enough for me- I’m done with any of the new German cars (have been for years now- the is500 replaced my 2003 bmw 530i). Come to think of it, I don’t want any of these small engine with turbo, or hybrid, single big screen dash to control everything cars whether they are Japanese, German or US made.
