The Ferrari has some issues... Let's face it, the Mac is the best car in the field by a pretty good amount. Has been since mid of last year.

Not only was Chuck's driving mega, the team had the correct tyre strategy . . . for a change.

Charlie took care of those tires. And for whatever reason Lewis' second set didn't suit him. Lewis is having a really tough time adapting to the Red Machines.

I think Luigi Prosciutto will come around . . . maybe by the time the circus reaches Silverstone.

Max unlucky to get a pen in my view. Gifted race to Pastry who cruised to victory.

Nice result for Leclerc. Solid podium. Shame the Ferrari is just nowhere near fast enough to compete for wins

Lando makes too many rookie errors. He needs to sort out his consistency or he will never win WDC.

Nice double points for Williams and good teamwork by Sainz to drag Albon around.

I think Ferrari had some really great pit stops. It seems like they cant ever get it ALL working great at once.

Yet acording yo some he's not good enough.

......o guess Elton must be thinking how lucky he was to drive that Mercedes without a driver like Charles in the other car...

I agree w Gary Anderson on THE RACE.COM:

"As for the controversy at the first corner, I am with Verstappen on this. We need to allow some level of racing, especially at the first corner and even through the first lap. If Max had held his position instead of going off the track, we would have lost at least the two frontrunning cars, if not more after they would have been caught up in the melee. What's the point in that?"

Regardless, McC is getting pressure, I was shocked Oscar couldn't catch and pass Max, the vaunted best car isnt that much quicker.

Stroll and Hamilton, the only two drivers incapable of progressing: they both finished in the same position in which they qualified.

Could be time for this question to be answered: Is Hamilton a very expensive Checo Pérez?

Agreed, just wait until Charles gets put in this position and I'm sure the sentiment will change in here

Max was losing the position; of course he could have caused a crash instead of going off the track, but using off-track to be in front was actually unfair - he should have given the position back, and not doing so resulted in a totally deserved penalty.

The rules have to be that you need to always leave 1 car width of space. Max has used this trick that Piastri used today plenty of times, it's just so stupid that they still haven't corrected it.

It's not cheating. That's how the FIA has written the rules, you try and use them to your advantage.

It's not Max's fault the rules are dumb

yes, watch the body language of drivers when MBS tries to pal-ly over, they all shirk away,, ignore him as possible and cut him. The guy's a total failure and drags FIA down

The “adapting” excuse is lame this far in. A seven time world champion should not need this much time to “adapt”. The painful truth is that he simply is older and doesn’t have the same ability he once had. It happens to them all sooner or later

People need to stop making excuses for him.

Not too mention the fact that he had no where to go. He had a poor start and left himself out to dry in turn one. Better to take the chance in that situation and keep your car in one piece. It’s better to let the stewards decide than to risk balling up the car and getting a dnf.

lil' lewee gets littler every race; another open spot for Max next year, although it would be shocking if Max bet on SF to get 2026 together.

Bring back gravel traps and sand pits. The drivers need to fear being off the track again.

BTW- Congrats to Williams!!!! and ChuboZak gave a surprisingly graceful post interview.

And Max made it clear he [and all drivers] don't dare be critical to FIA or stewards in his post interview w f1.tv. MBS is crushing spirit from the sport.

No need to chase and pass, he knew Max was getting a penalty FFS

You lot must never have watched F1 before, Max pushed Lando off the track last year at COTA and it was all "oh Max knows the rules" *********, now the rules must have changed because Oscar did him cold and as usual Max ignores the rules (and that maggot Horner chips in with his BS after the race)

Not wearing it, Oscar was the better driver and the Eurotrash can't handle it ....... wait until Oscar has a few more years up his sleeve, it'll be Max who

Max made zero attempt to take the corner - if he had braked he would have been behind, which is why he didn't.

If he made the corner outside the white lines maybe he wouldn't have gotten the penalty, but he'd still be behind.

RB made a calculated guess that they'd benefit by not giving the place back.

FRA - nice city with a really big airport :)

Wittich, who was the race director from 2022 until he was let go the previous season, explained to Sky Sports DE why Verstappen was handed a five-second penalty.
“For me, it's absolutely clear that Max must give back the position. We have discussed this topic for a long, long time – years ago already – with all the teams and the drivers,” the German began.
According to him, it's “always been absolutely clear that if you leave the track and thus essentially gain an advantage – and he did, because he kept the position – then that position must be returned.”
