I strongly believe, ev or not, the best way to save the world is limit the HP to 700 max or 1500 kg total weight.

In this way, the one who wants to outperform the other has to develop the lightest and/or smartest possible packaging technology.

These types of broad boundary can only make R&D do real R&D, not by limiting or banning specific tech or material.

Also, this will save tons of tire wear and brake wear and also tons of fuel not to mention precious minerals and so on.

In what was probably one of its biggest mistakes, the EU banned ICE from 2035. Now it has come to the conclusion that it will have to unban it. If the lyricism continues, it is quite possible that something similar will happen with carbon fiber.

 

I agree but annoyingly that's not what people want, they want heavier and even more 1300+hp cars, all people care about is raw stats and not lightness

Making its first appearance in Japan two weeks ago with a pretty thorough close look.

 

For the first time, Ferrari has named one of its models “La Ferrari,” which meant it was the definitive, ultimate Ferrari, representing the pinnacle of the marque’s engineering, driving experience and design. The La Ferrari is indeed an exceptional car in every respect, and it was probably this combination of virtues that led Luca di Montezemolo to validate that name.
Now the name Ferrari, but without the “La” preceding it, which makes all the difference, will be used for the new electric vehicle. The name was recently revealed by chairman John Elkann, who announced, “We are thrilled to present the Ferrari Elettrica.”
According to surveys conducted by Ferrari through its dealerships, the overwhelming majority of current customers have no intention of purchasing the electric version. In order for the model not to be a commercial failure, Ferrari will have to attract new customers, some of whom will probably be among the wealthiest and most disillusioned with Tesla.

 

Are the wealthiest driving Teslas? And if they're disappointed, they would already be buying electric Bentley's and RR's, which have been flops. I don't think their sales have raised since Tesla's fall. I don't see where this Ferrari Elettrica will fit.

The F80, IMO, sold out heavily influenced by customers wanting to up or maintain their status at Ferrari to be among the first in line for the next big thing, if we ever get to see another one from Ferrari in the near future.

 

The F80 is the big thing. The next one will come in a decade or so. Who knows what kind of propulsion it will have...

I'm not in favor of total carbon ban in cars. However, one might question if easily damaged carbon rims are necessity in production cars.

The front is horrid, and the back is corvette, interesting.

 

Have you ever seen her in real life ? Or just in pictures ?

 

With every Ferrari launch there is always someone from across the pond who will see a Corvette. Happy Easter!

 

The wheels are a work of art. The front though, when I look at it, I see handles and I think the break in the front design by these "handles" is unfortunate aesthetically.
