Hi guys. I have an 85 308 GTB QV and I want to replace the York style compressor with a new similar unit. Not a conversion to the Sanden type. Having done my own belt changes I am familiar with removing the compressor so that's not a problem. But does anyone have any experience removing the clutch/pulley assembly from the compressor? Do you need any special pullers and such? I saw a thread last year where a guy replaced his but can't find it. Appreciate any insight would be helpful.

    Thanks

The ID of the hub is threaded. The 8mm or whatever retaining bolt comes out and a large bolt threads in and pushes against the snout of the crank. Its a taper and just pops off.
Thats for the clutch. A large snap ring retains the pulley bearing and its not a tight fit.
It pretty easy if you have the correct bolt. Its around 3/4 or so.

    FYI
The large bolt you use to screw down on to the shaft to push off the clutch assembly is SAE threads not metric.

    Just looked through my notes...

The bolt you need to press off the clutch is a SAE 5/8-11.
