If it helps, I actually bought a Urus from their sister lamborghini dealership recently, so im sitting at about 570k sales history with them. To be frank, I really don't want a roma spider at all. I was thinking to lease it, but their lease deals are horrible. I'd also want a contractual obligation that they have to sell me a VS, but I don't know if that's even possible. They want me to trade my 488 spider in to their dealer, build a roma, and consign the roma back to them. The idea is that by the time the roma is built, reconsigned back, and sold, my VS will be ready to build/deliver.

Hopefully on the 29th things become more clear, and worst case, I will end up picking up a 458 speciale or a pista instead of playing this game. Thanks for all the help guys

This is not a deal I would take, but that's just me :) Sorry about the mixup earlier. This IS the VS thread after all.

Don't take this the wrong way but a $570K purchase history isn't meaningful to any dealer. It's really the equivalent of just one car today. Except perhaps for the very newest dealerships, all dealerships will have 15-20 guys ahead of you with multi-million dollar purchase histories who will get the car. If you're being offered the 296VS in exchange for the Roma Spider, you'd be wise to take the deal. And perhaps the next time a VS comes along you'll have a stronger history with the dealer and won't have to play that game. You'll be coming out ahead in the long run. Just 2 cents from someone with a 20+ Ferrari purchase history who once had to buy a Lusso. ;)

Thanks for letting me know. Im a huge Mercedes collector, and spent a lot of time with them and I'm new to ferrari for the time being, so I get what you mean in terms of higher sales history. What do you think will happen to Roma spider resale? I think my build will be about 350-400k and I probably will keep it for a year or so with low miles. What is your opinion on Allocations in terms of a VS coupe? I would definitely want a spider, but they pretty much instantly declined that.

In the grand scheme of things, my budget for my next super car is about $1,000,000 give or take. I could go up to 1,500,000 but I'd have to trade other cars so I don't think I will go that route for now. I wanted an 812C but obviously that isn't happening either. If they guarantee contractually that they'll sell me the car, I might go that route, but if not, I was thinking to pick up a 458 speciale or just switch brands entirely. I see the merit in trying to build a relationship with them but essentially I think the point that they're trying to drive in is that at least at my dealer, they want you to have bought one used car from them and build a new car from them too to get an allocation.

    I appreciate the insight brother!

You're not getting the GTS as there were specific requirements for that car which you don't meet. Build the Roma to $350K. Pick a rare color so you're not competing with ten other silver cars when you go to sell it. Wait six months and put it up for sale. You might take a small hit. But you'll be ahead with the 296VS net. You can try to pre-negotiate a 5% sales commission on the Roma.

I also recommend asking the dealer to do Tailor Made or Atelier on the 296. It'll make you a more valuable client to the dealer.

Don't be a pain in his butt by asking for a contract. It's never going to happen. Be cool about it. Play ball, not hardball. Just put down your deposit on the Roma and 296 at the same time. It's only six days away. There are a lot of guys asking for the car now and that's only going to get worse in six days.

For my own general knowledge down the line, what are the approximate requirements for a 296 VS Spider (GTS or whatnot)? Would it be similar to something like the SF90XX? They make a lot of fantastic cars that I want but obviously don't have access too despite being about to pretty much buy what I want.

I get what you mean about a contract, but one of my friends got screwed out of a Lamborghini by making a similar deal with the Lamborghini dealership that I bought my urus from. He built an LP610 spider, pre traded it on the notion that he would get a tecnica, and the dealer upsold his 610 without giving him the car while swiftly returning the deposit. This was during covid and I get that times are different, but I swear to god I would go ape **** if they tried to pull that on me. I will let the thread know regardless what they say on the 29th so everybody knows.

It was something like 3 Fs in the garage and 1 or 2 recent purchases. Others here will know better than me. I didn't bother asking because I just told them I wanted the GTS and they said ok.

Thanks Commander! You've been a big help. I'm gonna try to get the coupe while skipping the roma, but if not, maybe a roma will be in my future lol.

You won’t be taking a lesser car by getting a Speciale. It’s just amazing. The game with ferrari is interesting. I’m in for north of $5mil in orders, and cold t get an XX or 812 comp, even with two high spec TM cars and both 812 variants. I didn’t hold enough cars at once. I’m getting the 296vs spider, and I was surprised at that. Happy about it, but I’m not big into playin the game with buying other models to meet the needs.

What did your dealer say to you in terms of an allocation? Did they tell you that you're pretty much ready to place a deposit on the 29th? For me it's just speculation and he said "I will talk to management but pretty much if you buy the roma spider, trade your current 488 spider, you are pretty much guaranteed to get a VS coupe."

VS spider is for TOP and high level VIPs. In my region to be TOP you have 15 cars in the garage avg.

I signed the right of first refusal over a month ago, and paid the deposit many weeks ago. I suppose all dealers do it differently, but that’s what I have done. There are at least 4 TOPS at the dealership, each getting an f80.

Not for all - local "newer" dealer - req'd 296 and GTS received VS Spider and only two or three in garage.
7 in garage 2 on order and "got" VS coupe / XX coupe, it's going to get interesting.

Then you should just tell them you don’t want a Roma spider, instead you’ll buy something from their inventory, I’m sure they’ll be happy to work something out with you. Might want to back to back the two tho. Hope this helps.

Do you all believe that you should take a VS if you get one? I love my regular 296 and I am not sure if I will like the VS as much.

BTW: Having a 296 wasn't sufficient to get an allocation for the VS at my dealer, but 296 + 12Cilindri worked.

Just curious, did everyone receive the email from ferrari with Giovanazzi and message on my ferrari app with him talking about 296vs reveal?

Every market and every dealer could be different. My understanding is that ferrari told the dealers who gets the VS spiders. The VS coupe, dealers get to decide who to offer too, but that too potentially is based on a broader list of clients that ferrari provided to the dealers. This I've gleaned from talking to multiple dealers. Also, generally dealers will sell to clients within a 100 mile radius (sure there can be exceptions). Ive talked to multiple dealers and their VS cars have already been allocated or atleast so they say. To the OP that asked about a written guarantee for an allocation, it’s not going to happen. It’s a leap of faith based on your relationship with the dealer. Since when has a special series disappointed? Also listening to that clip on Ferrari app that was posted 3 weeks ago, the car sounds very promising and better in sound than the current 296. Congrats to everyone that has an allocation.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference and what you weigh the highest in your decision. Financially I believe it should do well as seen with the 812 Comp and SF90XX. Styling-wise the consensus is that it's going to look more aggressive, perhaps with design cues from the GT3 and Challenge models.

If we follow the pista model, the spiders will do well financially. The coupes, ppl wont lose money and may come out ahead over time, imho.

The other thing to think about is that the next special series will be 6 years away. I can only see the cars getting quieter and heavier due to regs. Ive also heard that customers with allocations plan to keep their VS for a long time.

Yes, I would also keep it for a longer time, together with the 12C. But I have said this for many other cars as well ;-)

Did you get an allocation for a 296VS?
