    2 Things:

    1. The car could be in a traditional car-like shape and they could have additional mules running around hiding under car-like form factors and we may not be able to realize it’s the EV. Any 296 mule or SF90 mule with electric warning stickers could be an EV mule in disguise.

    2. If the vehicle is indeed SUV like as indicated by the obvious EV mule, then it could be something like the Lamborghini Lanzador form factor and this would still be consistent with the driving position seen in the known EV mule.

Just someone's fever dream. Everyone who can draw a car "designs a Ferrari" at some point.

Why the **** would Ferrari do this? Rimac, Porsche and Maserati struggle to sell their electric cars. I just can’t see how Ferrari will do any better? I know they have a stronger brand and reputation, but I’m afraid this will not be lasting much longer if they continue to go down this path.

There is not one single Ferrari from todays lineup that I find interesting, and I’m a lifelong Ferraristi by heart. The massive depricitation on their newer cars is a big call out. And now they will try to push electric cars on their clients. I don’t think this strategy will end well in the long run.

I would buy this vehicle …

    IF it had the following:

    1. Next generation suspension with truly proactive shocks that completely dampen potholes
    2. 1,000 bhp
    3. AWD
    4. Base price under $500k usd

Don’t think of it as a sports car. Think of it as a high riding GT coupe hatchback similar to the Lamborghini Lanzador which is coming. This is an entirely new category of vehicle. Seen through that lens, it actually looks pretty good.

I think it looks awful irrespective of anything tbh

as it happens I'm not keen on the Lanador/Urus which I think are comically agressive

Given the depreciation we have all suffered on 296 and SF90, I can’t imagine any of us ordering a $500k EV that is going to crater. Maybe that’s just me.

If Ferrari go ahead with a fully EV car, I think it’s going to be a catastrophe, both for Ferrari because it will flop and for those few that buy it, because it’ll depreciate faster than a piano falling off a skyscraper. Just one guy’s opinion.

To buy VS models why? Because there is a guaranteed profit in them? Remember all that money is off the table now. So you’re only buying the VS model at twice the price of the base model because you really love the car. I don’t think there are that many of those clients. The economics have fundamentally changed and I think that game has come to an end for Ferrari, as they will find out in a couple of years when the order books run dry. Can’t wait for my phone call to be told I was allocated to an EV, like I was the Purosangue.

I sincerely hope there's nothing to this.

" Ferrari is in serious talks with Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor to share an electric car platform. The news, officially revealed by Zhu Jiangming, CEO of Leapmotor, at the Shanghai Auto Show, confirms the company's commitment to customers.
Just a courtesy call? Not really. The visit was in fact hiding concrete negotiations, as Milano Finanza has just confirmed: Ferrari is interested in exploring the possibility of developing a future electric model based on the Leapmotor architecture, which has already been chosen by Stellantis, a 20% shareholder of Leapmotor, to penetrate the markets with low-cost models."

I don't think this is the reason to be disheartened about a Ferrari EV.

This thread should have died a while ago. EVs are yesterday's news......Ferrari knows it and so does every car builder on the planet. The people pushing this have lost all credibility.

Why? Electric motors are a commodity. Batteries are a commodity. Electric cars, regardless of brand, are going to be essentially all the same under the hood, and everyone will use the most common denominator parts in the future. Nobody's gonna buy a tale of bespoke motors hand wound by Italian virgins in the rolling hills of Modena.....

    I agree with you.

My point was that the problem with a Ferrari EV is that it's an EV. Doesn't particularly matter where the motor cane from.

Interesting stuff about the trademarked names (sorry if a repost, I can’t find anything already written about it), there is a name that has been registered by Ferrari as a car name, which is Superuniversale.
