Cooling off and leak check after the first long drive of the season. One small drip of oil off the right corner of the rear cam cover to deal with.... BTW-The shiny spot on the floor behind the car is water from a previous car wash, not oil.
Yes, repro's of the optional Dino wheels. Same size as stock 14"s on the 308. I'd seen a few period photos of early 308's with these wheels and liked the vibe.
Sunday touristic tour with lots of European oldies, a few American battleships and 4 Ferraris. Monday 2 yearly oldtimer MOT for the 328 ..... all perfect Today I give the Lancia Montecarlo the spurs
my mechanic replace one clamp in one of the fuel hoses near the fuel pump because occasionally I smell gasoline inside the passenger compartment. the fuel accumulator was also replaced. the old one w/c still look original was leaking already resulting in prolonged cranking on cold and hot starts . After replacement I tested it and cranking when cold or hot takes a short time and idling upon starting is smooth even when the engine is cold .
Walked out into the garage to see my right front blinker lens was gone! The plastic the screws go into broke. I just ordered a pair if one is bad the other is not far behind.
For tires I'm running the stock size/ype Michelin XWX's which work well. If I want really 'sporty' I drive the Cayman Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe there was an option for Ferrari center badges. But I'm not a fan of adding more horses to a car that already has way more than enough. When I bought the car, there were 12(!) prancing horses visible when sitting in the drivers seat, including the now removed floor mats and key ring. The remaining nine(!) horses came from the factory. Ridiculous, really, IMHO.
The wheels look great the way they are. But the yellow Ferrari centers would bring the yellow of your car to the center of the wheels also. In the end I would leave it like it is also. It is gorgeous!

I installed a new lithium battery from Antigravity. It saved 23 lbs over the lead acid battery it replaced, with the added benefit of a built-in management system that protects from parasitic drains by shutting the battery down before it dips below 12v (it comes with two key fobs to "restart" the battery if it shuts itself down, and also has a button the battery itself). For those interested, their "group 24" battery is the proper size and shape, and you want the positive terminal on the left side, not the right (you have to choose from a dropdown menu). This is what it looks like: https://antigravitybatteries.com/products/starter-batteries/automotive/ag-24-rs/ Yes, it is very expensive, but the dollar-to-lbs-saved ratio is pretty good, and the restart feature has saved me from being stranded many times in my other cars.
After a quick fuel stop, gave it some proper exercise with a few new friends: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just drove it, but it's the first time in the evening since I installed the Holley lights. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, Retrobrights. First time I've used them, but they seem ok. Certainly brighter than the old setup. See https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/holley-led-headlights.666232/ for a discussion of options.
Got the girl up and running add a few more items to the to do list but for now just want to to put miles and smiles on her before doing the the belts and accessory belts I had a tapping noise from the rear that would go away after a few mins I thought it was a valve train but after seeing the tensioner bearings for the timing belts I feel that was the problem after the first start up. The noise wasn’t there. Of course I replace the tensioners with hills engineering after going through the maintenance records from the previous owner, the tensions were done, but probably originals and not Hills Image Unavailable, Please Login

Flushed the cooling system, thats in another thread. But I pulled the spare tire. Great news, It’s in perfect shape! Image Unavailable, Please Login Looks like it has never been used! The date code is 477. So that would be the 47 week in ether 87 or 77. The car was built in February 1978. So I am guessing 47 week old 1977. It scares me just to look at it. LOL
I totally agree, I also do not understand why people want to add extra horses and Ferrari-badges in and on their cars... Floor mats with huge Ferrari-logo's on them is an eye-sore for me. They should just be plain black (in my car at least). But on the wheels the cantercap-badges are original and belong there. But not when you have aftermarket wheels like you have. I was just wondering if it was an option.
I finally finish making a set of air injection port plugs for my GT4, it took a month to intermittently squeeze all 8 plugs in between all the other projects that I have waiting for attention. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Slapped an upgraded aluminum expansion tank on the ol girl today, was soo easy it may as well have fell together by itself lol. Thanks to AW Italian parts 308's are fun tinker toys, best F car for hands on enthusiasts IMO Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Got my 328 out of the shop this morning. Nothing serious. It had some fuel injection issues and the A/C lost refrigerant again. Working now. When these things are running correctly they are just so much fun to drive. You can rev them all you want, shift up or down, brake hard for a turn, etc. The 308-328 is really what I call a sports car. All the fun and no complexity. My daily is a Corvette C8 and its a really nice car to drive around or long distances. But the 328 has emotion the Vette just can't match, even though its a hell of a lot faster. The Vette is nice to drive. The 328 is fun to drive. There's a big difference -- and we are lucky to have the ability to drive them at our leisure.
