296 VS

F1 Miami race - last weekend.
Don't think comparing modern Ferraris makes much sense, especially against hybrid.
Never wanted a V6 or hybrid - SF90 changed that as did 296 - if someone wants to live in the past, it's their decision to miss out on a whole lot of fun. By the way this is supposed to be all about fun

 

Ferrari challenge next weekend in miami. I was told they will show it there. Going to ask my SA on Monday.

 

My guy was trying to get me to go over a month ago…just couldn’t work it out, but excited to see more of the car. Did they ever release an official video from Ferrari, with the head brass discussing the design elements?

Any info on the Piloti version?
In the video, Antonello Coletta says "Ferrari Special Series - a special equipment edition with a livery"
Does this mean that Piloti version will have a special feature apart from the normal VS in terms of equipment not just the livery?
What would equate to a special equipment if it is not just from the livery.
Do we have to wait until Le Mans in June to figure this out?

Car will be at Challenge weekend Miami which I think is the upcoming weekend. Not the same as the F1 race.

Yes I think so. day355 has helpfully been pretty explicit with the hints here. A car to compete with the STO. I am expecting a winged car, much closer to the 296C

 

If it's true that will be really cool.

 

That sound interesting, maybe a "Race" kit with wing and more agressive front.

 

I had planned on a multi-layer red for this car but keep coming back to rosso corsa. I think the flat colour just really complements the many intricacies of the exterior. It is the opposite for the 12C IMO. What is the consensus?

 

SF90 clearly the fastest car in all areas, we don't need to talk about that.

812 Superfast was only just behind the 296 in the 1/2 mile if the cars weren't in sporty mode. Of course the 296 is faster, but the differences are not super big.

Tires alone make a big difference, do you know if everyone had the same tires or if some had Pirelli and others Michelin Cup?

A 296 will be 1 second faster in the 1/4 mile under the same conditions, of course that's something, but it's not worlds.

I'm also not going to come up with the argument and say an 812 is faster in top speed. A car is more than just times and the downshifts alone on the 812 are worth that 1 second slower to me.
The good news for you, there are plenty of 296s on the market, you can all buy the cars.

 

I have both. The car I WANT to drive is the 296. Nothing like real experience.

 

I think the Rosso Scuderia is a nice compromise; better than Rosso Corsa if you are OK with the hint of orange it provides.
For the 12 Cilindri the Rosso Imola works very well.

That would be wild and I have no idea but I hope they do something to further differentiate it.

 

I recall @day355 saying that the sto like car was shelved as they did not want the non hybrid taking away from the 296. Also, some else mentioned there will be more options for the piloti. Now have to wait for that reveal. Lol

I interpreted this thread slightly differently...

 

It's good that there are different tastes, but I always prefer the 812 and now they are in the same price range.

Rosso TRS.. to me it’s Rosso corsa but the Speciale version
