The special version always correct those suboptimal design elements. I’m convinced that Ferrari designs the special versions first, then dumbs it down and softens the look for the regular version so that they have somewhere to go with the special. With the exception of the 812. The comp just looks like a Japanese body kit.

Don’t get me started on the 812 comp, the idiotic lack of rear window which then requires the awful lcd “mirror” which is unusable and the gimmicky “vortex generators”. I can’t wait to sell mine.

I somehow feel the same unfortunately.
Designwise, it could have been better. Drive wsie, why on earth we need another capable easy car? We already have tons of them.

812C is better 812 not different enough than 812 or tdf rival. 812C should have been a car with so much edge and sharpness that one should respect to drive properly. Not just better 812 with quicker shift and low end torque.

    Yes, they are.
Listen, I love the Ferrari V12 (F140) engine. The 599 made me giddy every time I felt it. Other than the Valkyrie's Cosworth V12, the F140 is the best road car engine in the world.
The fact of the matter though remains. The 296 destroys the 812 and the 12 Cilindri in a straight line. I know that straight lines are not the beginning and the end of all things, but as far as that metric goes, hybrids win every day and twice on a Sunday.

The 296 easily out handles the 812 on the curves/ bends too. I would think more so even than the straights.

True, true. Rear-mid engine Ferraris are inherently better handling than front-mid engine ones.

I can't remember which one, but there's a YouTube initial review on the Best Seat where the reviewer says that it is much more comfortable than it appears. I've got a few other greens in mind, so probably not Nurburgring. I've never had a satin black car before, but I think this would look great in Nero Opaco. What are you thinking?

Own 812GTS - plenty of those for sale, not everyone thinks like you.

I almost went with TRS - my issue was 95% of the time it's very close to Rosso Corsa and RC metallic 39k vs TRS 42k. Rosso Lipstick is a strong red.

Completely agree! I did, however, look again at the dealer configurator vs the available YouTube videos and feel like the configurator makes the Best Seat look way worse than it is. The YouTube videos showcase the real thing much better and it looks like it really fits the rest of the car overall. I'm definitely going to spec a Best Seat as I feel like it suits the spirit of the car much better. I would bet that there's a lot more to play around with the Best Seat for TM, too.

Verde Jewel and KERS would both be excellent.

It would look wicked in satin, but I would never pay the markup for opaco base paint: it’s more money for a paint that cannot be as easily repaired. Instead, get a black with more sparkle or flake and then do satin PPF. 296 looks great in satin or matte because it makes the edges really pop, especially the belt line. Then instead of having finicky paint finish that shows finger prints, you have the easiest surface to clean and maintain.

Nero Daytona would be the cheapest metallic, but Stellato and then Galaxy would have more sparkle, here’s Galaxy:

LOL a lot quicker? 296 is literally 1 second faster than the 812 in your video that you posted in reference. And listen to the 812 screaming down the line versus the other 2 cars. Not saying one car is better than the other. Taste is subjective and everyone should love what they love, but arguing over a one second difference between these two cars and saying one is MUCH faster is laughable. I have an F8 spider and an 812 GTS and find myself reaching for the 812 every time. Way more emotional every time I drive it.

1.4s second less time, on 11.8s, to achieve a quarter mile - almost 12% faster, so if not a lot, at least significantly faster. The same proportion applied on an 8mn Nurburgring lap time would result in almost one minute difference...
Feeling and enjoyment are different matters, but when it comes to speed there is no contest.

Nero Daytona 458S great much less expensive - Stellato / Galaxy - 42k
Colored carbon now available - preference over paint - ran 60k on XX which has lots of carbon.
Opaco 296GTS - imo worth the money, allows you to order any layered paint - all cost same in opaco.
Here's my 296 bought from dealer - also opaco wheels - spec is a little off but decided to buy it over waiting.

the reality about the edge and sharpness is it's actually a super easy thing for Ferrari to make, these cars have so much power and electronics that they could just literally be digitally adjusted to make them raw + throw in a some thinner glass for more engine noise / remove a bit of weight and you're there!

It's hard to go wrong with Rosso Corsa for a VS car - it's just classic. Also, given how rare it is in recent times (relatively speaking), at some point I think people will come back to seeking out RC on the secondary market. Colour preference (like fashion) is cyclical.

Recommend folks watch the video. He is getting all 3 and talks about how he came around on the 296 and that he is adding all 3 speciale to his collection. Talks about what he expects the piloti to be.

Amazing. Everyone loves the 296 once they actually give it a fair shake. I loved mine from the moment I started the engine.

Ha! That’s somewhat cynical but probably not completely off. D355 has hinted that new models are concepted in several versions from the outset and that the spiciest concept is earmarked for the VS from the outset. This will be clearly demonstrated in the upcoming 12 Cilindri VS
