top on my spider is fine. dump design for sure but so is the buttress materials! having had a 348ts and now a 355 spider; the spider as a style/ experience over tb/ts etc wins hands down for me; but then I have a capritsio exhaust just seems odd that in the uk at least we are approaching over £75k difference between a like for like spider vs gtb! that is a lot of money!! Not hatin' on buttresses. I like them on almost every car they came on. That being said, the Spider top also has buttresses.
Good point, but not sure how much that matters. (I thought johnk said it was illegal to drive with the top up)
This is where we are in the UK - and we're supposed to LOVE convertibles. Have to confess I look at prices like this and seriously think about selling. I love my car, but it only cost me £30k and I'm not a rich man; an extra six figures would probably see me retire three years earlier. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
or swap for a spider and retire 1 1/2 years early with a beautiful car in the garage! (i just dont understand the price difference!)
I have Tubi + Hyperflow Cats. My Spiders Top is down 99% of the time. GTS looks nice, but I'll take my Spiders Sound Track over a Buttress
Me neither. The thing is, it's self reinforcing. The Spider becomes the "unloved" one and then nobody wants to buy it because it's the unloved one and the price differential is maintained. I love my 355 but I can't imagine spending £150k on one. There is some serious competition at that price point.
Sounds like the perfect combo, we have the same bad weather here as you up North, looking to buy some condo in Florida but worried the cars rust alot compared to Cali?
Berlinettas are still undervalued. By alot. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If driving around in 2nd gear just to make noise is what gets you off. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That silver/blue 355 went cheap....although the DeltaVee suspension and 360 brakes suggest track history. Anyone know the story on 360 brakes on a 355? that's a new one to me. Didn't see anything in the archives.
Do you mean because it's blue? I like the interior, it's different and cool. Much prefer blue to tan!
The brightness of the blue, combined with the white/gray seat inserts and what appears to be three different colors of carpet (blue, dark blue, and black?). There is just a lot going on. It's a bit discordant. I'm also not a huge fan of the bright colored dash and steering wheel (in any color: blue, tan, red, etc), I usually prefer a black dash even when seats are red, blue, tan, etc. For example, I love the 550 Maranello in Grigio Titanio over Bordeaux seats with Nero wheel and dash. The full Bordeaux wheel and dash is just too much red IMHO, it overwhelms. However, I am a big proponent of non-boring specs and support owners/buyers who take risks and spec cars well. I think the silver over bright blue has the potential to be a great spec if it is tweaked a bit. That is the inherent risk of doing a non-boring spec, it is harder to get it right. My personal ideal spec for the F355 is more on the basic end of the spectrum. I'd love to find an F355 GTS in Blu (Swaters) over Crema.
I think it went cheap as well. Silver, carbon seats, color of the seats were all plusses. Condition of the leather was horrible. Accident history was another minus. The car is begging for clear turning lights.
It’s hard to create a “wow” factor with a rare, unique, unconventional color combo when the condition of the car looks like ass. I’ve seen Civics put together better. One has to really love that color combo to put in the work to restore to former glory.
