My workshop owner has told me that currently no new tires are manufactured and available for the 550, 575 and 456 series - at least here in Europe (I am based in Germany). Can anyone of you confirm this? Do you have a solution? Luckily my tires are still good for this season, but probably will need replacement in 2026. Best would be Michelins, but if they are not available I wouldn't mind going for new Pirelli or Bridgestones.

    Hi Thomas,

In UK Pirelli (only) are available when I checked recently - the rears are the problem.

I am currently on Bridgestone and would prefer them or ideally Michelin like you. Great if anyone has a solution or a way to persuade Michelin to make some!

    I just double checked - seems here in UK you can get PS2 / PSS rears and PS3 / 4 / 5 / SS fronts for a 550 - so PSSs in a set

P Zeros available front and rear

Websites showing availability but I wouldn't 100% trust them ..

    DM me if want details

I have a saved eBay search for tyres and agcompany-tires in Italy has tyres to fit from Michelin and Pirelli. Pirelli UK shows P-Zero Rosso available.

Are Continentals not available easily in Europe? I just put a set on my new to me 575 rims, but even 17" sizes were easily available for the stock 456 rims

I've never seen Continentals that fit 575 rear wheels, fronts only. Maybe they only manufacture them for the US market.

These sizes are available through Tire Rack in a variety of brands including Michelin.
Additionally , they will ship to Europe.

Oponeo, Polish but with multiple operations across Europe have Michelin PSS…

Stock is low and variable but they can get them, have just bought a set with 48 hour delivery.
    Happy hunting!

My wheels are not stock - running Michelin pilot sport cup2 325/30/19 on the rear, 265/30/19 on the front. Just put them on about a year ago - not cheap 2K+. These are really close to real racing tires - not good for all-weather. I live in Arizona where it never snows and rarely rains so I don't care.

Michelin PSS is now 2 generations old design. The Conti Extreme Contact was revised a few years ago now and is a much better / more modern tire...less twitchy, better breakaway (less snap; extremely important as its a known issue w 550 platform), better wear with age.

For some reason Continental don't seem to sell Extreme Contact Sport 02 in Europe at all. Tirerack.com do sell to Europe or at least they used to some years ago. Might take some extra persuasion though to prove buyer knows what he/she is looking. They are likely mostly worried that there would be returns or some such extra hassle.

If it fails there are companies in US who provide service where they act as ship to address. Once items are in their warehouse they forward them wherever needed.

Europe is getting very strict about low rolling resistance / soft compounds for efficiency reasons. You can literally 'feel' in the side walls of many of the newer tires.

I doubt that conti qualifies as low rolling resistance having felt its construction in my own hand.

Oh that’s great to read. Just bought a 456 here in Europe and it’s going in for a service. Tires are from 2012. Guess I’ll import a set of boots then!

I managed to hunt down a pair of new pirelli p zero 255/45 17 and 285/40 17. Pulled the trigger and now that they arrived I realized the 255s have the “rear” indication on them. Checked online and I cannot find any information on the same tire with a “front” indication on the tire. I also couldn’t choose when I ordered. Any tips or experience with this? Given the size of the tire, they do have the dimensions of your average rear tire…

Has anyone used 315/30-18 on 550 stock real wheels? Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 K127 is available in that size. Some local Porsche owners have used Hankook as cheap option for some light track use and they have performed well. Stock 550 front size is available but 315 is nearest for rear. Might be ok for a while waiting for new premium options to become available if it fits.

I use 315/30-19 rears on the 456. It does introduce a mild touch of understeer but its perfectly drivable on the street
