Congrats! I await the sound clips/video!

Also how long was your wait? I recently ordered Kline inconel 200 cell cats (with shielding) and Kline inconel exhaust and was told 8-12 weeks.
For my manifold I went with Larini and was told 6-8 weeks.

I ordered last year with same quote for time. Took about 15 weeks though. They said they received a lot of heat shielding orders which take longer.

The sill plate? Lifts out, but you may want to have a plastic interior panel pry tool to help with some leverage. No glue, but you can see the CF replacement has some 3M tape to help keep it in place.

If you mean the black rubber weatherstripping, that just presses over the spot-welded join you see running the length of the opening. As long as you're careful it's reusable unless it's dry-rotted or visibly damaged, then it's best to replace it.

Yup. Just pulls off. No glue. Check to make sure it’s not brittle like Mark said.

Tried to get fancy with the replacement straps in my trunk. I wanted something a bit unique and found these tiny cobra buckles. The originals were both broken so I needed something. It looked better in my head though, not super happy as I think it looks a bit too industrial. Ended up getting replacements from Two Red Birds instead. They also have a new handle for the took kit now as well. Will update when those arrive. Meanwhile, if anybody wants these, let me know.

Got the Two Red Birds replacement strap kit in today. Really nice overall and they offered a replacement handle for the tool case too so I snagged the whole kit. The only downside was there were no included rivets or hardware so I used some Chicago screws I had laying around to install everything. Much easier than rivets and it’s now serviceable for future repairs. The tool case handle comes apart easy as well, no drilling. Just pry apart the old rivets once the foam is pulled back.

I did notice that the tool strap was super long so I had to cut it down a bit, which turned into a chore since I had to uninstall the side of the trunk again. Future note to anybody else, double check the lengths of your straps against the old ones and test fit everything while it’s still outside the car. Also, I discovered the tool kit is actually covered in PVC, not leather. Bit of a bummer but I guess easier to take care of this way.

I bought a CF cluster a few weeks back and started fiddling with it today. Decided to go ahead and swap mine out with it this afternoon since I had some free time. The two upper bolts had several washers each as they’re clearly too long. Not sure if this is another case of Ferrari’s “fix it with shims” philosophy or if someone used the wrong ones. They were both muscled into position as well, unfortunately the captive nut on the left side cracked the 1mm worth of dash they had to hold it in. Once that’s spinning, it’s near impossible to get out. I ended up breaking as much of the surrounding material as I could to get the nut out by force with the cluster trying my best not to break the cluster at the same time (although less worried because I had a new replacement :) )

I polished out the new cluster inside and out and epoxied the nut back in place with some 3M panel bond. Should be good after it cures. While I had it out, I used it to epoxy the rear flap on my tonneau cover lid as the right side always stood proud of the surrounding area and I realized the bond with the frame had let go.

Looks great. I wish they had the repair kit when I first got my 430. I paid $400 to have Classic Coach in NJ to create a new handle and install it.

They must have just added it as I looked a few months ago and it wasn't there. The texture of the handle wrap is a bit more pronounced than the original, but at least it's real leather. It's amazing how cheaply made the tool kit is overall. I guess that's why they just gave up on including it.

Where did you get the CF cluster face? I opened mine up and cleaned it , wish I had a cf cluster to install when I did that..

Doubtful but I guess not out of the question. You can look inside and see the edge of the PVC where it's wrapped over. Also, it definitely feels like PVC around the corners where it's bunched up. They could have made those completely flat with a bit of heat.

Found a whole cluster for sale on eBay. Thought I was getting a deal but got it just as the new Canadian tariffs took effect so turned out not so much of a deal.

Sad that Ferrari is too cheap to use real leather in straps and bags (using cheap plastics instead which quickly fall apart), but a great job Joe with fixing it!

I think a lot of people would prefer to pay $10-$50 more (or whatever it costs) when buying a new Ferrari to get real leather straps, maybe it can be offered as an option?

Thanks! It makes much more of an impact than I thought it would. Aside from some roll hoops, I think I've gone as far as I want to with the CF. Don't quote me on on that though :D

    Looking real good!

I don’t know why there isn’t an option to add that CF trim piece to an existing cluster. I’d love to have a carbon cluster in mine as some of the finish is peeling (I know I can get it refinished but the carbon looks so right). Wish someone would figure out an aftermarket solution!

Just wanted to let you know I was having some very similar rough 1-2 shifts after my conversion. I set up the linkage adjustments and double checked them per textbook but just never really got any better.
I kept playing with it and ended up turning the left to right adjustment a half turn to the right. That, combined with trying to make sure that I am pulling “straight” back into 2 (I noticed I have a tendency to keep quite a bit of pressure to the left side of the gate for some reason)
The shifts are night and day improvement with those two changes.

Thanks. I might have to try and fine tune it again and see where that gets me. I’m not hopeful though as I was doing 1/4 turns last time while adjusting.

Thought of this thread. I had my annual service done last week and mentioned this small annoyance to my indy mechanic. Aside from the gear oil flush, he also did a half adjustment horizontally on the cables he said. It now shifts pretty damn smoothly from 1-2. Hope that helps since I know you had that issue before.

Thanks for the tip. Just to clarify, when you say horizontal adjustment, you mean the cable that controls left to right motion on the shifter?

That I don't know, just repeating what he said to me. Want me to ask him what it was exactly?
