I am in Florida too. No comment on where I drive. To be fair- more approaching the limit- as compared to at the limit. I agree with your depreciation comments regarding Ferrari sales tactics and 2nd buyers. The stigma of a 6 cylinder and hybrid while significant, will likely dissipate with time because they are advantages, not disadvantages- the car is that good because of them.
GTS, those are not $100k less. Setting aside an outlier (odd ball colors etc), GTSs are MSRP or a little less. These wont keep falling in value. Rates will decrease, most finance. Economic certainty will return, cars will sell. Cars like these have swings in values from non-car reasons (like I stated, rates, economic confidence, competition). The Speciale appears to be what everyone had hoped for and will turn the tides for the 296.
Buyers put off by the V6? That engine won LeMans for the last two years and is unbeaten for the first 3 WEC 2025 endurance races. Damn good record. Can't say that for any of the V8's or V12s.
Really you are saying that there is a reason some do not worry about depreciation, with a long explanation. The simple fact is that when some do not worry about it , they have considered it and dismissed it , it perhaps is not a ‘denial enterprise’ just a fact for them.
My own opinion is a mix of the above but Id also add with the hybrids Ferrari really did introduce a lot of new things all at once: * new drivetrain concept * new styling concept * new interior concept (to this model segment) * new pricing level (especially with SF90) * new model to the line up (SF90) We can all see the data, there is another way of looking at it: it could be even worse. What would these cars trade for if there were from another brand? Maybe they'd be worth something like ½ or even ⅓ their original MSRP. I think time will tell and the most likely thing is the depreciation levels off and maybe we see a small uptick in values, but I also don't think the values are going to skyrocket up. Soon they will be selling 2.0 models which I would expect are better in every way. I'd love to be wrong as I own these cars, but I think you can look at 599 values as a rough guide to what I am expecting, especially with SF90, and 296 I think will be a little better from a values stand point.
I'm definitely in this category. I buy my F car models based on how they look to me, and most importantly performance, as I've done with the others I've owned. I never consider depreciation, if I did I wouldn't drive the car 7000+ miles a year which I've done with all previous models. My F cars tend to be daily drivers, and I never evaluated the expected residual value when I made the purchase. When I get around to selling, the price is whatever the market allows at that time, it's that simple.
Isn't it obvious? He is just trying to elevate himself in Ferrari's Top Client list, or to at least maintain status. There really is no other reason for his promotional videos.
There are 99 296 GTS for sale on cars.com of which about 20 asking between $410k and $429k, many of which are delivery mileage 2024 cars. To say that 296s are at msrp is just a fantasy.
what were the MSRP in those 20 cars? How many 296 GTSs are for sale (and selling at MSRP or close?). No way to know, right? Thus making big sweeping generalizations about pricing trends without having the info is silly.
Maybe you didn’t read my post, there are 99 296 GTS is for sale on cars.com, my dealer has 14 for sale and hasn’t sold one in months and a $410k asking price on a delivery mile 2024 means it’s going to sell at $410k or below which is over $100k below MSRP. Believe what you want, these cars are well below $100k off msrp and ticking lower every day.
No You are just kidding yourself The 296 = The New Mondial Awkward design overpriced over produced hybrid V6. A baby-momma Ferrari at best
How did you like the way it drove? Was it easy to live with on a day to day basis? Was it fun on the track? Spirited mountain drives?
that is your ONE comp? I know if at least 4 that sold in the last 60 days for MSRP or slightly below. I believe someone on F-Chat just sold theirs for MSRP. Are you making offers on these cars?
Why do you guys (there are 3-4 who fit this profile) hang out here? Why do you care so much about 296s given your distain for them? The design is horrible, it sounds terrible, its going to be worth .02 cents next year. ..why post, why take your precious time and comment here? What is your point? Are you just trying to be offensive or gather attention? I truly don't understand. We come here to celebrate the brand and share enthusiasm. Someone long ago proposed that F-Chat access is for verified owners only. You would have to prove that you own a Ferrari to post here. Maybe that was a good idea.
The 488 first raced in Jan 2016 , it took more than 6 1/2 years to reach 500 wins. The Ferrari 296 GT3 crossed the milestone of 100 victories in less than two years of competition, celebrating the achievement in the opening round of the 2024–2025 Asian Le Mans Series at the Sepang circuit. So if you are hung up on this , just do the math !
It is obvious that everyone here is pushing the limits of an 830 hp car on open roads... Guys, it is time to change careers and go racing in WEC !
Spot on. When I drove the 296 I was able to floor it and it laid all the power down without braking traction. Pretty much in any scenario. When I drive my F12 I am unable to do that because the back end will kick out. So yes, 296 lays power down better, or rather, easier (it took no driver involvement to lay power down). However, was I driving the 296 at limits? No. When I track my Ferraris, I'll go 155mph down to 60 mph in 300 - 400 feet. I'll take corners at 70mph with tires sealing about to break traction. I'm an intermediate driver at best. I let my instruction (expert and semi-pro) drive a few hot laps and he destroyed my lap time and, I would say, was "pushing the limits..." So, in short, in no stretch of the imagination is anyone on here pushing the limits on the open roads in any of these cars.
