Sorry about the striped bass and the bluefin tuna pictures. My thumbs must’ve gotten crazy but in any case that’s my Ferrari.

Whew - I just finished this entire thread - binged over the past few months. Thank you to all who contributed (minus the fish pictures, ha). I'm looking to get into my first Ferrari in the next couple years and this thread and all your photos has really helped me narrow down my ideal. But now I'm worried - I'm going to be stuck on an '83 QV GTS in rosso corsa over tan. I was going to potentially veer away from the quintessential Magnum car and focus on the best GTSi or even 328 that I could afford once I'm ready, but I just really like the look of the '83 QV the best. While I wait to get ready to pull the trigger, I'll continue to troll this forum and learn more. Thank you all! Now I just need to get this darn Mini Cooper to the place it needs to be, enjoy it for a little bit, and sell it to make space.

It doesn't matter what 308/328 you get you will hear about Magnum, so get what you like and get the best example you can afford. I looked at 308’s for years before I finely got mine about 8 months ago. I was torn between a QV or a carb car. I knew I wanted a euro model. After doing a stand alone ECU and a ton of mods on my Exige I decided I am just an old analog guy. So I settled on a carbureted car. I love my 78 308 carbs and all. But I think they are all great. Lots of good knowledgeable people on hear. They have helped me a lot. Happy hunting!
Here is some MINI love. I am about to sale this one. They are fun cars!

    Jason,
This is probably premature, but I just so happen to be prepping to sell this ‘83 GTS that I’ve been babysitting for the past five years:
    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1983-ferrari-308-gts-quattrovalvole-10/
Currently located in PDX, I bought it out of Cali where it passed emissions just before my purchase and it continues to retain all of its emissions gear. It’s been a great car, and my wife is gonna cry when it goes down the road, but I acquired a Euro dry sump car last Fall and am not in the income bracket that affords one the luxury of a stable of Ferraris (plus a Lotus, plus a race car). ‍
Happy to chat, even if you’re not ready to pull the trigger right away.

Lovely. How about a shot of your apparently bumperless front end?

Beautiful; love the side marker delete. You know, there might just be too many red Ferraris in the world, but damn they look good! :p Did you also anodize your exterior door locks?

It's a work in progress so be nice and it's constantly evolving. Currently it weighs 2700lbs and my goal is 2500 without it being a rattly tin interiored race car.

The original headlight openings will be closed behind the louvers that I moved forward, I think the louvers are an important feature from a looks standpoint. OR I have some other ideas in mind for that area, another is completely smooth (like some group 4's) which is also an option.

2700lbs - what's it like at that light of a weight? Does it make a big difference?

Very cool look. I like the forward louvers, as it keeps the Ferrari look. Smooth might look too Pantera. I find the headlights are reminiscent of the Detomaso Mangusta. What are your plans for a grille?

It's noticeably quicker and it handles better and with fast ratio rack it feels like a gokart. It's the most fun 308 I've had. I decided I didn't want to go the correct hose clamp route anymore and since this car had already begun its weight loss program when I bought it, I decided to just go with it.

Incomplete at the time of the pic. The door panels are now alcantera with vinyl arm rests like original. I moved the necessary switches to the radio hole and eliminated the rest. I wanted the exposed shifter, eliminated the A/C completely.

I like the 246 rear shelf look so I welded the original aluminum panels together, bodyworked them and matched them to the Rosso Chiro.

Im going to have a simple screen to protect the radiator like a Group 4 car has. Hard to tell in the picture but its a prancing moose emblem on the front.

Hahahahahaha.......love it. You've got a head start on me Mr. Newman, but I plan to follow a similar trajectory with my '79.
I take it you're not going to maintain a build thread - or should I say "un-build thread" - on this car as you did on your earlier 308?

I should start a thread on it, it used to be another f-chat members car. I'll link a thread the previous owner started once I start my own.
