I am not sure who the Lotus belonged to. He arrived later and I did not get a chance to speak with him.
A few of us will be meeting in Gbury for a bit tomorrow before Easter commitments. Gary will also be bringing a book for us to sign in memory of Rich who passed away a few weeks back. He will be giving it to his daughter, Gretchen, in the weeks to come.

Hey my fellow Tifosi!!! Unfortunately checking in to report some bad news...my 355 was taken away today after nearly 19 years of ownership, off to the salvage auction. A month ago was out for a casual drive in town, sitting at a red light on Main St...saw a distracted lady not slowing down at all behind me...hit my horn to no avail and plowed into me without braking. I had normal whiplash / seatbelt burns but nothing serious, she was ok also...but the 355....didn't look so terrible really, bumper, Challenge grille, pushed in exhaust, underbody aero panels cracked, tail light, etc. But when numbers got added up, her insurance totaled it!!! I'm still in shock it happened so fast from impact, to adjuster, to totaled, to hauled away today. Honestly someone could probably make her into a great driver with much lower $ invested, but at this point I don't need another project just to end up with a salvage title driver. Honestly I can't complain, I had an amazing *almost* 2 decades of ownership, so many friendships, memories, etc...and without getting into numbers, cashed out 22% higher than I purchased it for Yes neglecting engine out majors and other maintenance costs That said...I'm in the market for a Rossa Corsa 430 Berlinetta F1. Anybody know of one??? Like with the 355's, Berlinetta's are hard to come by! And I know the 3 pedal is more collectible, but I love the F1 experience. Loved it on the 355 and the 430 version is even better! Here's a pic from the 2024 Dream Ride at the Farmington Polo Grounds...next to the insane Paddock Classics 348! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jay, Let me start by saying I am glad to hear everyone is okay… the cars can be replaced. I know what the 355 meant to you and the great memories it delivered over the nearly 20 years. I will keep my eyes out for a Red F1 coupe. Maybe if we can find you one we will finally see you again in Gbury. Joe
Sorry to see such a beautiful example heading to the scrap yard, but glad you didn’t get any life altering injuries as a result. How she missed that bright yellow is beyond me.
I'll bet dollars to donuts she was on her cell, talking or most likely texting. In the past decade my wife has been rearended twice by people on their cell, and I was rearended once by the same (fortunately not one of the Ferraris). This is why I don't ride my Harley as much any more, too dangerous. Sorry to hear about your car, but fortunately someone can get it back to almost new.
Sorry to hear Jay. Glad your ok though. Hopefully a new Ferrari to join the family soon. Don't be a stranger come visit us on Sundays.
