I need a couple of pictures please (Scuderia Audio)

I'm considering designing and manufacturing hyper directional tweeter pods for the 348 and 355, similar to the pods I make for the 360/430/458/488/F8/599/etc. The 430 pod is shown here. I need a couple of similar close-up pictures with the doors both open and closed of both the 348 and 355 triangle trim pieces at the bottom of the A pillars. You can PM me.

Thank you. The reason we need the in-car pictures is that we need to see the physical limit as to where we can add the contour that mounts the tweeters at the correct angle.

Awesome!! If I could just get one more picture of the triangle while the door is closed, I can see what the total untouched area is, and that will help us design the hyper directional tweeter area. I'm guessing that the recessed area in the front of the triangle (that accommodates the two screws) is not seen when the door is closed.

 

Correct, the screws are hidden when the door is closed.

Hey Mike, if you need a physical reference, I can bring my F355 by next week and drop it off for a few days for you to get all your measurements and test fits done.

@Mike Morrissey , this picture is exactly what I needed to show my CAD guy. Now I just need to purchase a used triangle (most likely from FerrParts), spend about a grand to get it professionally 3D scanned (there is an outfit in Marin that scans parts for NASA), have my CAD guy modify the drawing to accommodate the tweeter, mounted at a precise angle to shoot the sound right straight at the occupants, then get pieces 3D printed out of nylon. Will keep everyone posted on this thread.
@willrace , The two initial tweeter options would be the Focal TAM tweeters (as part of their Flax series component speakers) and the Focal K2 (or Kevlar) tweeters (as part of the ES165KE kit). If we generate enough interest, we may design some pieces to accommodate the Focal Utopia drivers (which are generally regarded as the best car stereo speakers on the planet).

 

Hoping some generous 348 F Chatters could chime in with similar interests.

 

That's about the perfect direction that I was hoping for. Trying to figure out my first system install after almost 30 years away from it.

I will be designing some adapters to fit the 6 1/2" speakers in the doors with no modifications whatsoever to the car.
I sold subwoofer systems for the 355 for years, but the subwoofers I was using are no longer available. I need to redesign.

 

I appreciate the offer. I'm going to borrow one from someone local. I'll deliver it to the 3D scanning people, then give it back. There will be no modifications to the piece whatsoever. I only need one side, and I only need it for about a week.

 

I just purchased a used 355 triangle for 40 bucks (because it had a small crack, which can easily be taken out with the scanning software). It is being sent directly to the 3D scanning outfit. Will keep posting my progress here.

A generous 348er in my area was happy to loan me one of his triangles for a week at no charge. I slipped him a hundred dollars and an 80 dollar bottle of cab for his troubles. The part is already on the way to the 3D scan outfit. The 355 triangle arrived there today.
