    My dealer in US is not taking any deposits yet. Probably waiting for the pricing to be announced

    Appreciate the comment @day355. It’s been a struggle as i have yet to come across one that hits all the criteria that are important to me for my use case within my budget. 296 by far has the best front end and brakes of the F cars i’ve driven. Only thing missing is the visceral sound. Maybe the VS can address it to some extent.

    Agree re: front end and brakes. And it has more than enough speed for me. The sound has actually grown on me enough that I like the Ferrari V12s better but 296 is enough.

    What I miss is steering heft and feel. I don't expect the VS will address that but it'll still be interesting if it improves on the already good sound and transmission.

    Same with our dealer. They don't want to take deposits until they know the MSRP and option costs...makes sense. Wonder when Ferrari will let all of us know...

    I asked this before, but I don't think it was answered. Is there a launch video going around that has the Ferrari brass talking about the car?

    That's not true, the number of the 296 Speciale Aperta will be at least 1500 cars like the Pista Spider.

    I was told from a source I will not quote here, that knows without question, it will be 1,000+-, not 1,500

    I'm thinking along those lines as well. This guy talks as if he has the information as gospel, but has been proven wrong on some things.

    Aperta, right? I am hearing Aperta deals taking deposits but seeing some dealers not taking coupe deposits yet.

    At least some coupe deposits and contracts have been taken across at least 3 US cities. Deposit amounts and ROFR terms are in ranges but not 100% the same though.

    $50k is far more than I have ever paid for a deposit...usually 10k.

    Deposit is more likely 10% of car price

    296 A are built as the Pista Spider, that was between 1300-1500 Spiders. I would also like to see fewer. In the end, nobody will know for sure, not even the dealers.
    @day355 what do you think ~ 1100 SpecialeA or ~ 1500?

    Deposit size also seems to depend whether refundable or nonrefundable, have seen both more like 10%, more like $10k, and refundable and nonrefundable. And 18-24 month on ROFR and have heard of 12 months but only whisper down the lane.

    $10k is the most I’ve paid for a deposit. If asked for $50k I’d want the interest applied towards the purchase. Seems like a lot for a car they could easily sell to the next in line. Are people being asked to sign a ROFR or a ROFO? Doubt either is actually enforceable depending on state and contract language but a ROFR may be egregious depending on terms.

    50k makes me think they arent confident folks will take delivery....I wonder if this is a dealer thing. If the dealer keeps the cash in their account they also keep the float. bet this is a dealer thing.

    I think the policies have changed. I heard that for the XX it was $125k. It used to be 10/20k at my dealer, and they'd never ask for any more, but now they want another deposit once in production.

    So far deposits on Speciale also seem to be different than GTS/GTB at some dealers.
