Not typical. Normally he wouldn't get to Q2.

So now he is 14 and Alonso 10. Big deal, the car is still a POS.

Hadjar will be the next Marko victim lol. The question is only how long before they toss Yuki.

That doesn't exactly answer my question but alright.

Personally, short of Leclerc and possibly Piastri, there isn't a driver in F1 that has a hope in hell coming near Max. Neither Leclerc has a want to take the 2nd seat or would Piastri want it or downgrade his seat. It's career suicide.

It doesn't matter who the second driver is at RB. RB invest all the effort in the #1 driver and car. We've seen Max run upgraded parts different from his team mates. RB desined the car and campaign around Max. This is the RB way.

Ferrari: Charles Leclerc's declarations at Skysportf1after the qualifications of the Barcelona Grand Prix.

    - "It was my choice, so the responsibility is mine. Whether it's a good choice or not ... Maybe not .... but it was my choice. The team offered me several times to do something different,
But we always had a worn tender tire train with which I barely have a look, not really used. But on a circuit like this, it makes a difference of about two tenths, something like that. I wanted to keep this tire for the race of tomorrow, I think it can give us a big advantage. This is my opinion "
    .

    - "I made my only attempt in Q3 at the beginning. Then the clouds appeared, the temperature dropped and we saw a lot of improvements from the other pilots. The responsibility for what happened today is mine, but I am quite satisfied with the choice of tires for tomorrow and I did it for the race.We will see tomorrow night if it works or not. "

People are forgetting that Max has been saying since last phase of 2023 (yes, that 2023) there are significant issues that need to be addressed. It fell on deaf ears. Same in 2024. Only mid 2024 did people start to believe what he said. Improve the issues, and the 2nd driver can finish well again.

The difference with Yuki is he has Honda on his side. But even they might get impatient . . .

    Wouldn’t you?!?!?

Why wouldn’t they cater to the World Champion who consistently wins and gets poles? In what world would any F1 team not give preferential treatment to their best driver?

Honda have said he is not on their roster any longer and he is on his own now that he is with RedBull. They wont assist with any other deals or interfere if he is negotiating for another team. They are not making a play to move him to Aston etc. supposedly. Of course that can all change. He was P20 today. Not sure id want to tie up with him currently. No team pursued him last year or has made him an offer for next year.

Yeah I was taken aback when Nico said "Unfortunately" about the speed of Lando. Like they are openly rooting for him. Shame.

Alonso working magic in that Aston. There's no way that car is only .5 slower than the McLaren and a tenth off the Ferraris and Mercedes. Stroll nowhere again.

Ferrari generally faster in the race, let's see if they leap frog the Mercs again.

Literally everyone with a functioning brain involved in F1 is saying the same thing regarding Verstappen.

Flav even this weekend "if you want to win, easiest way to do that is by hiring Verstappen".

    Max's comeback was brilliant ''it'll cost him'':D

We will see if Leclerc's tire gamble pays off, I have always doubt about these saving tires for race tactics. P7 may sound bad, but he could move up very quickly and P4 might just be the most Ferrari are fighting for tomorrow anyway.

What Charles said to the team:

Charles: "Are you convinced that there will be 2 stops tomorrow? It hasn't always been the case, but I hope so, because if it isn't, today's sacrifice will have been for nothing. With the 2 mediums, I hope it will pay off."

I think the traffic might f him over in the race (very difficult to pass here); if Lec is in Hamilton's rear, what's Ferrari fumble and let him cook his tires rather than use team orders again.

You realize Stroll is being investigated for not weighing in(himself) after post qualifying. That's a no-no according to the FIA as everyone has to weigh in as this is SOP(Standard Operating Procedure).

Looks like a grid place penalty or even starting from the pit lane may be warranted.

So, aside from his paltry performance on track, it seems like he can't even follow FIA post qualifying procedures out of the car.

I suspect Stroll is planning to be more professional after Aston Martin produces a championship-capable car, but by then the mediocrity will be well practiced. Alonso knows what to do with a car that could win races, but he may retire before Aston Martin get there.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Which Stroll are you referring too? (Lance or Lawrence)

I'll believe it when I see it in both instances re: 1) Whichever Stroll your referring too and 2) Alonso leaving before 2026.

    Lance.

I'm not sure Aston Martin is going to go from where they are to immediately contending for championships next year. Even if Newey gets the aero absolutely spot on, they still have reliability issues to sort out. Could be longer than 2026... how long do you think Alonso has left?

    All the best,
    Andrew.
