lol you sound like Lewis is fighting Tsunoda in points, rather than only being 20 behind Charles.
    He’s doing fine.

Objectively, with his experience, talent and results, things are not better than his last 2 years at Mercedes. FA and LH are both very much at the end of their F1 journey and are successful with history to be kind to them overall. Ferrari have to be thinking further about the future with respect to a new team mate for Charles now. Not after next year.

Of course it was intentional former F1 drivers commenting said there is zero doubt from the helicopter shot, he didn't turn.

What a poor example with his dirty move on George...DOD should have been Charles.

If they had left Max out on old tires, everyone would be screaming about how they screwed Max that way. Essentially his race was over when the safety car rolled, regardless of the pit call.

Well today the Ferrari dog got tossed a bone by Lady Luck. The sad reality is that the team is stuck with the two drivers they've got. None of the drivers at RB or McLaren or Mercedes would consider moving to Ferrar at this point in the game. Sainz would go back to them in a minute...and maybe Gasly would go there in desperation (another driver running out of years)...and maybe Alonzo, just to get out the Stroll racing farce and end his career in a better looking car. McLaren is the top team, Mercedes is almost number 2...Red Bull is slowly sinking into #3...and Ferrari, while number 1 in hat and tee shirt sales, could well see Williams replace them in the top four spot. Hamilton has hit a reality wall...I think he will find a way to quit by the summer break. Charles will continue as the teams weak and aging pretty boy #1, and maybe he and Ferrari will exit F1 together by the end of 2026. The future for F1 is to go the Indy Car route and become a full spec series.

6 laps left after the SC went in.....Max would have made it on the old tires and kept P3 position.

20 points are substantial at this time of the season when you take into consideration the points difference between 4th and 5th, 5th and 6th, 6th and 7th, 7th and 8th, and 8th and 9th are all 2 points each, which is where Ferrari is habitually finishing. If they were both taking turns finishing first and second, it would be inconsequential, but they're not.

In other words, a 20 point difference indicates an average 2.2-point advantage at each of the first 9 races, which also indicates that Ferrari is not getting the on-track results they got with Sainz. Hat sales be damned...

Hulkenberg's overtake was only because of some damage to Hamilton's car or was there another reason? That wasn't certainly a good sight for Ferrari and Lewis fans.

I have been meaning to ask you for ages about your iconoclastic left field comments... wholesale criticism is far too easy....what is it that you smoke before commenting;):p:D?!

You really have "out there" views.

Charles is not perfect but I dare say one of the top 3 in an equal car. He has come a long way in the last couple of years.

The circumstances screwed Max this time.

Similar circumstances allowed him to win a WDC at Abu Dhabi in 2021.

Drivers have to accept that any safety car period throws a spanner in the works. Racing becomes a Russian roulette !!

Leclerc is among the 5, or maybe 4 fastest drivers, but I feel he is never going to reach his full potential at Ferrari.

Maybe Charles likes it that way ?

The Max melt down was sad to see today. Yes, he was royally screwed by his team with the hard tire call, but the way he reacted over stepped the mark. The team call to give the position to George was also out of order. He didn’t deserve that. But equally, losing his head and ramming George was totally unacceptable. He should have been black flagged for that. Sooner or later these games will end with someone getting injured or worse. It isn’t ok.

Agree. It was his mistake almost losing control on the restart that let Leclerc and Russell get buy him. But he wants to forget about his mistakes and throw the team under the bus and breakdown mentally, showing mental weakness.

No smoke, just cheap bordeaux from Trader Joe's. What is the F1 forum for if not ranting. It is impossible not to scream and yell about the dismal state of the sport in the hybrid era. All the clips they showed of past Spanish Grand Prixs (and Monaco and Spa and name your own track)...all those clips only show how much better F1 was in the 80s and 90s and even early 2000s, compared to the modern examples of automotive elephantitus that parade around the tracks today. In my own small way I am trying to keep the spirit of Howard Beale alive here on FChat

You go John Ireland. “I want you to go to the window and yell Screw Liberty, I’m not gonna take it anymore!”
At least there’s NHRA and MotoGP until Liberty botches that too.
