Bottom line. Both cars are fun.
Thanks. Yeah im familiar with scuderia car parts and would be where I go for sure. I need to see these videos for me to seal the deal. I wait patiently. Been slowly doing bits to the F8. Got a OEM carbon weave spoiler done and full custom sound system. Next up are alloys and then the pipes (no diddy). Then hopefully I’m done. Will showcase the full build when complete.
Ive got some videos of my F8 with capristo 250 cats and Novitec inconel exhaust. Not the best videos. Shot on Sunset Blvd but you can get a sense. Will try to upload via you tube.
Sounds like it should! In person it has to be so much better. Did you solve the check engine light now?
Those are great videos, shows what the car sounds like in a real environment! I’m actually really pleased that’s what mine sounds like from the outside as obviously I’ve only heard it from inside the car. As I’ve said, it sounds like how I imagine the Ferrari engineers would have liked it to sound if they hadn’t been forced to comply with the latest noise and emission regs. Definitely doesn’t sound like a tuner/aftermarket exhaust. Hope that new Tectronic sorts your CEL, it did on mine.
Agreed. People don’t know how playful the F8 is. It’s soft malleable character combined with the enormous torque means you can do things with the chassis that the older (and much coveted) cars don’t even know about. The way it fluidly melds sequences of tarmac together is incredibly organic, osmotic almost. It’s an amazing Ferrari IMO that just lacks sonically.
yeah I don’t disagree with anything stated previously. I love every aspect of the car and love my spec but I simply can’t get there with it. I try and try but it’s just not hitting for me. I keep driving it, hoping that it clicks but if I’m being honest with myself, it’s simply not getting there. Just sat in the scud for the first time at Bev Hills Ferrari and wow is it a departure comfortwise and technologically but 2 days driving the 430 and I was sold. Scud I can only imagine will be that much better. PS- selling my novitec inconel exhaust and capristo 250 cats if anyone is interested. Prob let them go for 30-40% off. It’s all pretty much brand new.
My neighbor that lived across the street has had 2 430 Scud's...with cat and muffler delete. Insane...fun toy's. Way on the raw side and a real blast to get the blood pumping and heart going for sure. So very different than the F8
So Faider am I getting this correct? Even with exhaust it's just not enough? My F8 is the only new one for me...and it's special, and the last before electric... So why am I thinking about swapping for a 360 cs??? Or...putting exhaust on the F8...
it really wasn’t for me. And it may simply be that Twin turbo exhaust note just doesn’t do it for me. It’s very odd because I never considered myself a “sound” person but clearly I am and clearly it’s a significant factor for me because I don’t really have any other issue with the F8. I truly love every aspect of that car but it’s just not blowing me away and I think that issue has to be the engine note. And I don’t feel the exhaust setup with novitec and cats were that significant a change. I had it restored to OEM and I’m picking it back up in the next few hours so I’ll report back on whether it’s a significant change but I doubt it. I think it’ll likely be marginal.
@Faider am I correct in that the Novitec exhaust w/dongle plug in is what to get for zero check engine lights? Too me it seems others exhaust and tunes still have issues with CEL on the F8
Yes that’s correct. I’m happy to sell you my entire setup at a very discounted rate. Barely touched as you know. Just went on a month or two ago.
I am leaning that way but....: Thanks and I'd buy from you no problem. Not sure how long I will keep my F8. My F8 still has warranty and I value having that right now.
Yeah fair enough although I’ve had no service issues with the setup and I’ve had extensive work done on both my F8 and 812 but I think it’s likely service dept specific.
Mine is a no go on mod's any mod's the past 2-3 yrs. My local dealer even will not do Novitec springs anymore or valve controllers or exhaust etc. Every service and I have 4 more left, they said they have to log the car into Ferrari Italy through the ECU and provide photo's at times. Some owners put the car back to stock before a service or warranty visit to the dealer at local indy shops. That is way more time and money than I want to go through every year. It's a total rabbit hole discussion that's been worn out here...anyway. You'll sell a Novi F8 exhaust system fast and easy either here or on the F8 and Ferrari Facebook forums.
