Are Roma Spyders retaining their values better than coupes?

The coupe market has been hit really hard with depreciation as there are many many coupes for sale.

Would love to get peoples views on if one were to buy a 24/25 Roma spydrr would it hold its value better or is it going to fall off a cliff like the coupes have?

 

I think that the answer to this will be "what does the replacement look like?" Supposedly the new car is debuting on July 1.

Ultimately all the front-engine V8s are depreciation bait.

 

The production run is shorter so that should help but ultimately agree with above post. Only thing I would add is how much more Ferrari adds to base price for the new model could help with the floor on used RS prices.

 

Most cars depreciate, even high end makes. To estimate depreciation rates one may look at asking prices versus age for many specific cars. Since cars usually don't sell for more than asking prices, this gives a fair upper bound on selling prices (I commonly refine this selling price estimate method by taking around 10% off the asking prices).

Unless there are clear and sufficient data indicating the depreciation is slower than your "fall off a cliff" concern for you, perhaps you should walk away so you don't stress about potentially falling off a cliff on depreciation.

Any time an emotional reaction phrase comes into my mind related to financial matters, I pause to think about why that has arisen.

 

Roma Spider values appear to be holding in the US but it is early. I am not sure why a new model would have any impact on a current year Roma Spider if you want to buy one. Ordering a new model will take at least 2 years and probably more if you aren't high on the list. At some point you have to just enjoy the car because there will always be a new model on the horizon.

No! The Roma is not a big hit. They are making too many of them. The 296 is the exact same situation.

 

You can also say the same thing with certain V12 front-engine models like the FF and GTC4 Lusso.

I could say the same thing about the Puro, 296, and whole host of cars from other Marques (think EV G Wagon, or any Aston Martin).

But we are talking about the Roma here, no?

 

I think the Roma Spiders will depreciate slower than the coupes since it was a later introduction and there are fewer of them. Luckily it's not a hybrid so the drops should not be as precipitous as the 296 or SF90.

 

Hold my beer, I am a prior owner of a 1995 six speed 456 GT, Canna de Fucile. I was the second owner, bought in 2000 for my wife's 40th birthday. Great car, clearly under appreciated.
