5:45am ET warmup on Saturday 9 am MAX coverage begins. 10am green flag? Ferrari was looking good in FP4. They've got good race pace IMO.
Bourdais (Cadillac) and others have stated that Ferrari and Toyota are sand bagging because some of the laps and stints they did in practice particularly the yellow #83 499P were mighty, ahead of the pack. The Toyota drivers such as Buemi stated Ferrari is clearly faster than them. The Cadillac are strong in numbers, four of them, two of which on the front row BUT have poor top speed, vital with Le Mans's long straights, so their chances are for a podium only, with luck. Porsche had poor top speed last year and that hampered them badly this year they have improved that. Weather should be good, no rain throughout the race! Swiss Tennis super star and legend Roger Federer, hugely popular in France thanks to his Roland Garros French open wins, will wave the French flag at the start, like Rafa Nadal did a couple of years ago. Grand marshall is four time Le Mans winner -and Sebring 12 hour winner in a 333SP- Yannick Dalmas.
The warmup broadcast started. You can hear the echo of the PA system in the grandstands. Lots of memories of 25 years ago came back...
One rule in warmup. Don't crash. ....and literally on the outlap, the 311 Whelen Caddy goes through on of the total energies banners just past the Dunlop Bridge. ...there haven't been many big crashes all week...hope it stays that way.
83 and 50 top the times... 3:26.9 57 and 53 Ferraris top the GT3 times. Lemans picks you. see you in a few hours.
They went out, did their installation and checks on the outlap, and came back in. no lap time. It's not uncommon. Might have done it a couple times. They want to make sure nothing is leaking and everything drives as expected. The lap is so long, they can complete that. sjd
Audio and video are out of synch on Motor Trend…just like last year. It’s almost like they’re two different feeds.
Peugeot has a moment coming into the Porsche curves..... ...I'm a little behind....laying hardwood floor today. sjd
