After much research and heart ache I found my 348. I absolutely love it. I’m glad I ignored the haters and went for the under dog. A pure analog drive loads of power easy shifting hot or cold and just absolutely love it. 27k miles uk rhd and two owners plus a trader ( don’t count in my book ) Full tool kit ( that never gets used ) Yes the front wheels are on the wrong way I’ve just been to busy enjoying it. I’m so pleased I went for the spider it gives me the pure convertible feeling I’m used to but each to their own I love them all. I’m sure I can feel the extra bhp and it handles excellent. I’ve already fettled a couple of items thanks to the forum so a massive thank you to all the contributors. Edd Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know. After reading so much I’m as surprised as you are. It’s come with major service and clutch work done so it’s been well maintained. Very easy between gears too. A light feel to the pedal as well. Mind you I’m used to driving classics maybe someone jumping in from a Tesla would find it all a bit hard work
Mine was difficult shifting when I got it . Sent to Enso automotive ( near Wetherby U.K. ) he adjusted the linkages and that’s all it took .Shifts beautifully . It had had a engine out cam belt job before I got it and I don’t think it was properly road tested due to the winter weather ? They are great cars the Spiders . About as modern as I want to go . Ex 360 F1 owner here btw . Image Unavailable, Please Login As you can see an analogue collection all almost as simple as wheel barrow by todays modern electrotwackery standards .
Congrats @eddie348 ! Fellow Spider owner here... imported #99211 to NZ from the UK 3 years ago. (UK rego was L7HFK). They are a complete thrill to own, drive and wrench. Own = gazing at it in the garage, countryside rest areas; Drive = go-kart handling, top-down sound, gated shift; Wrench = the advice, tips and general 'love' from the 348 brotherhood via this forum.
