ALOT of social media saying to get rid of Elkann and Vigna.

Lewis Hamilton said Ferrari found an issue on both SF-25s after the Spanish GP which “massively” hampered he and Charles Leclerc.

However, acknowledging that discovery ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix was as far as Hamilton could go, as he revealed that he and Leclerc were under Ferrari instruction to stay tight-lipped on the matter.

Vigna, as CEO, could probably be easy to replace.
Elkann ? I doubt if you can get rid of the main shareholder.

Doubt you'd get the board to sack either of them for F1-related issues. F1 is a side activity these days, while $RACE is up almost 140 % since Vigna took over. Even if it got to that, the whole conversation could be 180'd by praising Vigna and Elkann for the WEC campaign

Deciding to stop working on the 2025 car and going full in on the 2026, Why cant you do both? Is it a money issue? I know there is a cap, but I would think that would be based on cost of that year car, no? It certainly cant be because Ferrari does not have the cash for both at once. Or is it a personnel and facilities issue?

New car AND PU. Everyone needs to shift etc. A large change is the priority sooner rather than later. Time, funding personnel as you state. Limited.
There are baked in issues for the Ferrari. Take too long to fix and what testing can you do now etc.

    It's the cost cap.

2025 is (yet another) wasted year for Ferrari. I'd have shifted focus to 2026 too.

Presumably, 2027 will be our year. or 28. But surely 29 or at a push 30?

Before stopping the development, at least they need to bring the new rear suspension. That´s something that can be useful for next year.

So the cap is the amount of money you spend in the actual year on your entire program. It doesn't matter that part of it is for the 26' car?

yeah exactly that. It's so that they don't spend ''next years'' budget on today and call it ''yeah but we're testing next years part on todays car, honest''.

    .--

It's a wonderful system thought out by the powers that be so that a year later after audits are done we can see if everyone has counted their beans properly.

    /sarcasm

Antonello Coletta, the head of Ferrari’s World Endurance Championship operation, has emerged as the favourite to replace Fred Vasseur as F1 team principal.

So they would remove the head of a working operation to try to fix a non-working one ?
It would be a risky move, since they may end up with two operations not working (unless there is someone within the current WEC operation able to take over).

IF true, I am completely and utterly in amazement with this decision but it's not surprising to say the least....and going into a new formula as well while the car he gets for 2026 was under Vasseur.(Again, if true)

Since 1950, Ferrari had no less than 23 directors of the Gestione Sportive (team principal) .
Jean Todt lasted 14 years; the Scuderia didn't win a WDC during the first 7 years of that period.
We may never know if Vasseur is any good, if he isn't given time to show what he can achieve.

The problem with Ferrari F1 is that the team is run by Italians.

Todt was the bidirectional bullship deflector. No BS from the race team got to management, no management BS got to the team.

I played this role for 7 years as a VP of engineering.

It would be the most Ferrari thing to do. From winning one prestigious race 3x in a row to winning nothing at all in 1 move.

    Absolutely !
Just remember all the Italian press asking for Todt’s replacement after the French Gp in 1996 ..
They are absolutely toxic for Ferrari in every way.
