Perhaps I got this wrong but technically Ferrari could add a hybrid and a bi-turbo to the 812 engine and get 1600 hp. Remember that the main goal always was to produce race cars financed by street cars which have to be sold up to a certain number and cannot technically be too much different compared to the competing car, as for the 296 GT3.

0-60 in 1.8 seconds, 1/4 under 9, breaking every track record everywhere, ultra usable on the street, great sound, $250k. It’s the best the Americans can do.

And…they’ll probably produce enough so everyone that wants one will be able to get one.

Watch the after sale plummet, in my market out side the US Corvettes are available and there are the same amount of dealers as there are Ferrari dealers .

The difference is they have 2023 models on the floor unable to clear them . It seems globally that Corvette struggles.

yes, within reason. I’m #1 for it at my dealer. I’ll
Trade the Z06. I can’t see ever needing anything quicker. I thought that about the 765 and honestly, I’d never spend multi millions on a car no matter my situation. But now, I can get F80 performance for half what my 296 cost me. Any car nut would be crazy not to get one.

My Z06 cost me $170k MSRP, I’ll have for 3 years and lose $35k is my guess. How’s that a plummet relative to the BS at some of the exotic brands, exactly?

Truly awful. Has to be same team that came up the AF liveries on the 296 and SF90 as those are similarly difficult to stomach. Somehow they held their own beer and dug deeper.

For the record, I like the 499P livery that supposedly inspired this…but hypercar (IMSA/WEC) liveries just do not translate well to street cars.

Please look at my comment, it is about markets outside the US. ‘Vettes’ are a US centric car

Not entirely related to the above, but I am curious to see if anyone here has personal track expense costs for the Z06. Gotta be a heck of a lot cheaper than our Ferrari/McLaren/Porsches run.

I tried to get an allocation today, but was put on a waiting list. Although I always appreciated the Z06, I never thought I would actually attempt to get a Vette. This is an exciting time to be a car enthusiast!

I think they did more than compete.
    Guarantee competitive in F1
Maybe you should go watch Ford vs Ferrari - see how that worked out.

What do you mean by "all that time"? Most people have other things to do, other than hang around on fora. It is a fact that American cars need to resort to huge engines in order to compete with the others.

You do realise that you are making my point, right? The GT40s had 7 litre engines, whereas the Ferraris had 4 litre engines.

PS: Guarantee competitive in F1? That was funny! They will be running with Ferrari engine, if you haven't heard...

It’s funny how these threads always end up taking a funny turn.

I wanted to check in on how people are getting on about with allocations for their 296 Speciale or 296 Speciale Aperta models. All of you 0.01%ers that can get a Piloti can go ahead and withhold the obvious regarding your allocations.

For me, everything hinges on the GMs. The salesperson I work with is very kind, but I live in an area where there are a bunch of VIPs then dealer VIPs then self-proclaimed VIPs so I’m not quite sure where I stand. I have a 296 GTB, a 296 GTS stuck at NJ port, a Roma Spider on waitlist, a 12 Cilindri Spider waiting to get on waitlist (which means FNA and Ferrari HQ have no idea that I would like one nor that I put a deposit on one already), and I’m finally finishing out Evoluzione+ and Race this year (both booked). Aside from being a bit pushy, I don’t really know what else to say or feel like doing anything more.

To boot, I threw my back today first the first time in a while so I have a sober reminder of how many good years of this BS I get to put up with before none of it is fun anymore!

    ::end rant::

    As does US Sauber.

Post Ferrari - stating the obvious is getting old with you.
2029 GM F1 engine power - til then Cadillac will use Ferrari engines / gearboxes.
TWG & GM formed a new company and plans to build a $65–70 million engine factory for 300-350 employees, open 2027.

You will be fine. That’s a solid late model ownership history and the Corsa Pilota certainly adds points. You’ll get a car, might not be an early car, but, nevertheless, you will get a car. I also think that we might be surprised by how many Ferrari will produce. They made a ton of Pista, and I suspect they will make even more 296 Speciale.

VS allocation of who gets one - it' the GM.
Having two - you should get VS. Guys who had both models and decent history at my dealer received VS Spider. A list of potentials were submitted by your dealer - the dealer received X allocations based on their list submitted. The GM and you should talk - if you aren't - you should put on a back brace and meet with GM.

You say that like huge engines are a bad thing. Call me weird, but I like my engines like I like my breasts…large displacement.

You should perhaps pull your orders and transfer to another Ferrari dealer. At many dealers, you should be able to get a VS Aperta easily (and a 12 Cilindri Spider).

Believe me the thought has crossed my mind, especially on days when I text or email on something related to an open order, and I don't get a response for a few days. My area only has a couple dealers and the other further away is not necessarily better with respect to the client base there. The ratio of allocations to Ferrari fanatics doesn't match up well here. I've been with this dealer since 2015 -- I'm hoping for good news.

Someone did mention earlier in this thread or another one that Speciales were up to the dealer to assign their allocations as long as the client met minimum requirements (1 car in the stable purchased in the last 3 years or something), where as Apertas are dealer nominated and then Ferrari HQ would select and assign allocations accordingly.

That said I've seen so many people in the US confirm Aperta allocations already, thus my curiosity as to what is the actual way to assure a car. The alternative way to guarantee a car is to buy every car, but I'm not a 0.01%er, unfortunately.

The situation is very similar in my area with watch buying as well. Although by dumb luck, I chose an AD long ago that happened to be struggling in my area before they blew up recently. I've been thankfully rewarded with a great relationship, including wonderful responsiveness, clarity, and allocations.
