They apparently built 1200 cars in 25 so far. Versus 3900 last year for same period. Built. Not sold. Those will probably sit on lots for 6 months before being slashed by 50%.
First quarter 1030 cars. I consider them a limited production sportscar maker now Future collector's items, although not as collectible as Ferrari's of course . I will buy one of the new ICE GS's when they come down to next to nothing in a few years. Q1 2025 results: Maserati almost no longer exists! - Carfans
An update, but they are still toast, although tariffs might help depending on what kind of a deal Italy gets. They need to find a buyer fast to save them from their selves!! I hope it is an Italian company again when this is all done. New Maserati Executive: U.S. Buyers Don't Understand Our Brand
Talked with Andrea and a few other people from MNA Wednesday at the NY Autoshow. First the Italians are back running things at MNA, not Auburn Hills. The tariffs won’t be an issue (my take) a deal will be worked out.
He’s correct as I’ve said many times, the problem isn’t the product, it’s the network. It’s the network that effects the customers.
Well of course ... I just bought one a week ago ... figures. They went out of business here after I bought my 84 Biturbo too. My warranty claims sunk them lol! Actually I fixed that car myself by re-engineering it. I still have and it's got 70K miles on it.
Hope they don't disappear. I've been lucky with a Ghibli, my current Grecale and Cielo. Just did 360miles ea way from NY to Montreal in the Cielo, great ride. So I don't know why they are struggling. I dislike the push button transmission in the Grecale that's about it. Idk...
Anytime McKinsey is brought in......it is a sure sign that Leadership has failed. Why? McKinsey only answers are: sell it, shut it down or pour more money in it. It is like hiring these guys to help you with your brand image. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Then Maser is SOL Hardly anyone else will sniff at this IMO they should never have tried to revive the brand to begin with
Was just talking with a well-known youtuber over the weekend re our beloved brand, who I will not name publicly. The large reason for their bad rep in the US to him, and we may not like it, is due to car youtubers such as him in general, all of who seems to love the MC20 of course, but the lease market cars such as the Ghibli truly tanked the brand, even though they were decent cars, just not Mercedes-level competitors despite asking prices greater than that of competitors. Also, and I didn't know this, but apparently Maserati hands over cars to just about anyone for reviewing and has no repercussions on those who like to tank the brand. Ferrari and Lamborghini for example will never allow certain reviewers access to their cars if they ever say anything cross about them, and if they do allow access and anything cross is stated then that reviewer is essentially blacklisted. We may not believe that's fair but that's how the game is played and I guess it's been that way for many years. The change to brand rep can be turned around by Maser not raiding Dodge parts-bins as much (switches to engines). The fact that the Ghibli engine is just a modified Chrysler engine with different cylinder heads, which itself is a stretch as the heads are only slightly different and still share many components, is inexcusable for such a brand. The Ghibli in general seemed to really lay out their future in the US in a negative way and that ship needs time to turn around. In the meantime the 'new' cars offered don't look very different and have climbed in pricing by a dramatic amount, not helping guys.
That's a gross mischaracterization, the blocks are cast in the USS and machined by Ferrari. It's a Ferrari manufactured and assembled engine except for the block casting. Stelantis switches are not a reliability issue but as has been previously stated many times. Chrysler's management in the USA of Maserati has always been atrocious going all the way back to the 80's when they partnered with DeTomaso. Being more circumspect about who they give cars to would certainly help but in general they're all parroting what others say. I think the comment from your youtuber is spot on about that. Doug Demuro is an ignorant arse. (just had to get that in )But yes, the Ghibli launch wasn't the best and then launching a QP that looks almost identical ... WTF! The last couple of years of Ghibli and QP models with the hotter engines, especially the Trofeo editions are probably exciting cars to drive but it's too late. I've had about week now on my 2022 Levante Modena S which has the Ferrari V8 in it. I drives beautifully and has more than enough power for me. If I drive it that hard all the time I'll need to rob a bank, buy my own oil well and have a good traffic lawyer on retainer ... You drive like that you get 8-9 MPG which is pretty much the story for any of these 500+ Hp turbo or SC cars for sale now. This is not run around locally to the grocery stores type of SUV, at least not at this MPG and pricing. I could have paid a lot less and gotten the 450 HP V6 but I wanted that V8 more than I would the Netuno V6. List price and brand new all of these cars are absurdly priced, at least 25-35% too high. So when they sit at a dealership and go unsold then sell at a huge discount the depreciation spiral begins. There are some knowledgeable automotive journalists who give Maserati a fair shot, The Smoking Tire has been very favorable about the Levante Trofeo and Grecale Trofeo. I think they even liked the MC20 unlike some others. Harry Metcalfe is another fair journalist who is something of a Maserati fan but he always give pluses and minuses . It was the Smoking Tire review of the Levante Trofeo that led me want this car. But I also listened to Metcalfe's review of the Jaguar F-Pace SVR and the twin turbo straight 6 version. I drove all three of these cars back to back on the same day and the same dealer. The jags were nicely finished a bit more modern of a dash including a heads up display but they were smaller and tight to get into for me . The SVR was brutally fast and not as refined to drive as the Levante. Less leather more plastic which is not always a bad thing if done right because it holds up better. However, I already have a supercharged Jag sedan S-Type R and having recently spend nearly $7K to recommission the car due to a $19 under the SC coolant hose I've researched these model Jags. I have my own Jag mechanic shop who knows a lot about Jags, Range Rovers and their reliability. The Jag sedan is such a beautiful car in Jaguar racing green that my wife insisted I repair it.
I have seen the heads and blocks side by side, they are *almost* identical, it's totally unacceptable. But yeah, the Levante and Grecale are great but the REP has already been cast. Just far far too many youtubers dumping on the brand and Stellantis didn't pick and chose or blacklist like Ferrari/Lamborghini would. I'm not sure how much I like that but boy has it been effective.
Modern day version of when exotics like Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini all used parts bin stuff because it was too expensive to make it themselves. As an owner fixer of older exotics where do you think all parts xref lists got developed. Nowadays Lamborghini utilizes a lot of Audi designed parts. What I said about V6 engines is accurate they are machined and assembled by Ferrari, probably not the Netuno though that's very derivative of the Alfa V6TT engine. And so what if the casting is Mopar? Do Mopar Hemi blocks suck? This is all very reminiscent of the crap we heard and keep hearing in the elections here. People have biases and are easily programmed to believe stuff. It's not like most of these YouTubers are particularly bright. Controversy sells.
Down to $76,000.00 already, and they threaten the dealers not to sell them under sticker. Wonder how that is going. Complete idiots, like watching the Titanic sink. Certified 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Modena for sale in Saint Peters, MO 63376: Coupe Details - 748191073 - Autotrader
I def like the latest granturismo simply for the interior refinement and tech. Used with low miles under 80k seems reasonable but I know they will keep going… I like my 2014 just fine though with the V8 so no real reason to change. Wonder what the overall market will settle t in a few years for the v8 gran turismo vs these newer turbo models.
