    Hello everyone,

I’m Constantin – private pilot and entrepreneur, passionate about design, performance, and precision – both in aviation and on the road.

I’m currently awaiting delivery of a Ferrari Roma Spider, originally scheduled for March 2025, but unfortunately delayed. Hoping to finally receive the car around September 2025.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your own delivery experiences – have you faced delays? Was communication from your dealer or Ferrari clear and helpful?

Also – are you happy with your Spider so far? Have you encountered any issues or concerns worth knowing?

I’ll also be attending a factory visit and track session on June 17–18. For those who’ve done it – what was it like? Any general advice or things to watch for?

Many thanks in advance, and looking forward to joining the Roma community soon!

I've had mine for a few months and have about 800 miles on it. Simply amazing. Very underrated Ferrari dynamically and from a sound point of view. You are going to love it!

My timeline was deposit on day it was announced in spring 2023, spec/config about 4 months later, started production May 2024, delivered Jan 2025.

Thank you so much for the reply and timeline details — very helpful!

I’m really glad to hear your feedback. A lot of people tend to compare the Roma Spider to other Ferraris or GTs, so it’s great to hear that you find it so rewarding dynamically and in terms of sound.

If you don’t mind sharing a bit more:

    • How would you describe the exhaust note during spirited driving?
    • How does the handling feel on twisty roads or at higher speeds?
    • Any quirks or things to get used to in daily use?

Thanks again — I can’t wait to join the Roma Spider club soon!

Exhaust - my SA and I were talking about the exhaust "personalities" of the different models and he coined the RS the "muscle car" of the Ferrari range. I had not previously had that thought but I think he's right. To be clear, the engine itself still makes a very typical "refined" Ferrari sound, but the exhaust itself is a bit deeper than other models. The cold start does not disappoint, that's for sure!

Driving dynamics - I've got 800 miles on mine and honestly haven't had the chance or the nerves to push it on road yet in the way I have my prior sports cars (M3 and various Porsches). That said I drive it in Race most of the time and my main takeaway so far is it feels lighter and more balanced than I expected. You can definitely have some fun with the rear end too. I do run out the engine to full revs regularly and it's bellissimo.

Quirks - none really stand out. I will say the haptics don't annoy/bother me at all. I think part of that is having the center touchscreen so you aren't reliant on haptics for every control like you are in a 296/SF90.

    hope that helps!

Constantin, here was my timeline. I think I posted this elsewhere, but here it is again:

I am blown away by this car, definitely exceeded expectations. The engine sound is louder and deeper for sure as @rmmcdaniel notes above. The drive with the top down is very refined, I don't worry about wearing a hat even going fast. The fabric for the soft top is really nice, complementary to the car and aesthetically pleasing. The leather is what one expects in a Ferrari and doesn't disappoint. The interface is miles ahead of its predecessors and is impressive in look and function. Probably biggest surprise for me was the JBL sound system. After reading a few disparaging posts on this forum, I had no expectations. However, I find it to have outstanding bass and crisp high notes. Maybe it just suits the cabin of the Roma Spider better than other cars. One quirk, which I noted on another thread is that the alarm goes off if you unlock and immediately open the passenger door. So give it a few seconds before opening.

    Constantin,
I think I ordered it October 3 2023 and receive the car last December 10th 2024. That was faster than I was told to expect. I was told 18 months and it was 14 months. This was to Missouri, USA.
It has a very nice exhaust sound. If you punch it, it gets very loud. But the sound of the exhaust doesn't change as much as you get higher revs. So you can get fooled if you are listening to the exhaust to time your shifts. Fortunately I had experienced that on a demo before I finalized my configuration and I added the LED's on the steering wheel. When the top is down you can't easily see the tachometer in the sunlight. You can see the LED's. Frankly, if you are trying to demonstrate acceleration to a passenger, I switch from manual to automatic. The car revs so fast, it's challenging to shift as smartly as the automatic will.
The comment about not getting your hair blown around is true. I still wear a hat for sun protection. This applies to the front seats. Passengers in the back seat will get substantially blown around because they sit higher. Yes you can use the back seat if the top is down. I'm 6'4" and have had a 6 foot passenger behind me. Was he comfortable? Well his knees were on the sides of the setback in front of him, but he rode for an hour.

You will be pleased. I laugh when I hear this described as an entry level Ferarri. Formerly owned Ferraris are entry level. My response is that I am frugal. I bought the least expensive Ferarri currently offered. I have just driven a 12 Cylinder which is a fantastic car, but you can own two Roma Spiders for the 12 Cylinder, so less frugal in that situation.

Thanks so much for sharing your full timeline — incredibly helpful! It’s reassuring to see how smooth everything went in your case, even if the waiting time was quite long. Sounds like the final product was absolutely worth it.

Your impressions are very encouraging — especially about the driving experience with the top down and the JBL system. I was a bit skeptical too about the audio, but your review gives me hope. Also noted your tip about the alarm quirk, thank you for that!

Hopefully my Roma Spider journey will follow a similar path. Fingers crossed!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed message — I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

It’s great to hear your Roma Spider arrived earlier than expected, and your comments about the driving experience, the sound, the LEDs on the steering wheel, and even the back seat situation are incredibly helpful. I’m especially glad you mentioned the visibility of the tachometer with the top down — I was debating the LEDs, but now it’s clear they’re a must-have.

I placed my order in June 2024 and received the car last week. Communication from the dealer was smooth but my expectations were that the delivery date was a bit of an unknown. In the end the 12 months as expected by the dealer was correct.

I also did the factory visit/fiorano experience and you will not be disappointed, it was a lot of fun!

So far I’ve done about 1400km since last Friday (Mugello MotoGP so not an average week) but the car was great, had no issues with the haptics at all, you get used to them quite quickly and I use apple CarPlay for everything else. Overall the car is comfortable, fast, a lot of fun, gets a lot of attention and I don’t regret anything! Most of the spec is personal taste, I don’t think you can go wrong as long as you do what you feel like you would enjoy.

Fuel consumption was also not as bad as I thought on a long fast drive!
