Thanks, now that you mention it I do remember Tim Schenken. I actually tried to buy the car almost 30 years ago from de Tomaso along with the prototype Mangusta. Both were badly neglected and covered in dust. I was told that they were part of the "collection". Might have photos somewhere?

I had hoped for more from this car. Did Ferrari take a hiatus after Monza?

 

No, but Forghieri didn't make any further notable changes the rest of the year. It was his next revision of the car, in the off-season with the assistance of new addition Niki Lauda, that made the car competitive in 1974.

 

I had the chronology wrong. The initial B3 design with John Thompson constructed chassis was not successful. The team withdrew entries for Holland and Germany while Forghieri reworked the car in time for Austria.

 

Yes it s a really nice car, I like it, the air intake too big and too high but it was this periode.
