Have spent the last months searching for my perfect F355 GTS. I wanted a yellow over black, carbon bucket seats, 6-speed manual car with challenge grill and body color targa top. Unfortunately the one with the exact spec just slipped through my fingers but I will be able to massage this one into what I want.

This car was prepared to go to Cavallino to try for platinum by an owner who regularly gets it on his other cars but unfortunately, the day of, the car had an alternator issue so it was withdrawn. The good news for me is that I was able to pick it up for a really good price after all of the work had been done to it.

Now my project begins. Only going to do a few things here and there to make it my perfect little hot rod.

    1. 355 challenge Momo steering wheel re-trimmed in black leather.
    2. Reproduction black leather and Alcantara carbon buckets from the newly formed company that graciously sponsors this forum.
    3. F355 challenge Speedline wheels painted silver
    4. Painted roof too match body color
    5. OEM FHP drilled brake rotors
    6. OEM FHP Pagid yellow brake pads (as far as I can tell, I was recently able to buy the last NOS full set of front and rear pads)
    7. Morimoto tail lights
    8. Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 DAB Bluetooth head unit
    9. Antigravity battery
    10. Ferrari titanium wheel bolts

Car should be going in for its full major/Cam belt service in the next few days. After that, down to Miami to begin the upgrades.

I’ll keep updating the thread as it progresses.

We had seen that one and actually called to inquire and honestly received the worst treatment you could imagine. Acted as if it was a nuisance to inquire about the car. Can’t imagine how they will sell it to anybody with that attitude.

A 348 Momo challenge steering wheel re-trimmed in black leather is just a 348 steering wheel no? If you have a 348 Challenge steering wheel (suede) I’d just sell it to someone who might be looking for one as they are quite hard to find.

348 steering wheels are easier to find and all leather for your needs.

I want a 355 challenge wheel, not a 348 wheel. As far as I’ve seen they are different. No?

Congratulations! Not sure of your F355 experience but seeing you have a 458 - I had an F355 Spider and 458 Coupe at the same time a few years back - the 355 is way lower than the 458 and so the nose WILL scrape underneath if you drive it around. It's going to rub the paint off. I scraped mine twice good in the first few hours after delivery.

My advice is to accept that you're going to drive the car and repaint the lower part of the spoiler every 18-24 months. I had mine 4 years and 17k miles, and it was redone before I got it (poorly, apparently, as my body shop guy showed me the shabby fiberglass work underneath), so I spent more on the first repaint after about 2 years (~$2500), then a touchup ($800 or so?) when I first listed it for sale (first guy who test drove scraped it immediately), and then one more time before it sold a year later.

That said, totally worth it. Did some great 1500 mile road trips with it. Always a hit. Only warnings from cops.

Thanks. I forgot to include it in the original post but I’m going to install the automods scrape guards to help with that. Appreciate the info

A 348 challenge wheel and a “355 challenge wheel” should be the same. It’s a bit of a misnomer because there shouldn’t be a designated 355 challenge steering wheel. However, the 348 Challenge steering was often used on 355 challenge cars so the association is there. I am using a 348/355 challenge steering wheel in my car.

Without the suede outer covering and “Momo” logo on the center cover, it is essentially a 348 steering wheel (all leather.) Unless there is another 355 Challenge wheel I don’t know about.

The 348/355 Challenge steering wheel is sort of an unobtanium part and desired for its suede outer covering. So to actually find one and re-cover it in leather is counter productive :). It’s easier to simply buy a 348 steering wheel and at least the leather type will be proper and period correct.

ok, I thought this was the wheel...

    https://evilspeed.eu/products/ferrari-challenge-momo-mod-69-steering-wheel-hub-adapter-boss-kit-for-ferrari-f355-f360

In any case, the Momo Mod. 69 is what I want. Thanks for clarifying

    Hey Simon,

I was eyeing the enzo 4 point harness as well, but could not get a clear answer from any seller. Are the shoulder straps even or is one longer than the other as shown?

I just checked. They are the same length. How were you going to mount them?

Good to know! Now I know why the seller in Germany ghosted me lol. Was the price you paid for a pair?

I was looking into a custom harness bar project that hooked up to the stock belt locations while completely removing the stock belts.

Just keep in mind the challenge mounts do need to be welded to the firewall.

ha ha ha. If it was the eBay listing then yes it was me. I asked him if it was for a pair as well. He opened the box and sent me photos and it was for the full set. I think it was a fair price. It was less than eurospares and it was brand new. if I remember correctly there is one more listing on eBay but I don’t know if it is for one or the pair. I would assume for a full set as well. And then eurosspares has one I think. Couldn’t find much else anywhere else

Yes. Ebay listing. He just never confirmed with me if it was for a pair or not. Probably because he already sold it to you. I inquired late May. Price is more than fair.

    Right, Ken.

A custom harness bar might be a good alternative.
