It looks like Piastri shot himself in the foot today; nothing to do with "British bias".
He was leading the field behind the safety car, and at the restart he alledgedly slowed down instead of accelarating. That not allowed by the rules. Maybe he will explain why he did that, but there is an element of "brake testing" there.

I seriously think that Oscar got off light there.

Once lights are off you're meant to keep a constant speed, he accelerated then braked hard. Big no no in normal weather, utterly stupid in this type of weather...

Lance finished a close 7th! and never got into the 31s. Perfect strategy for slow.

Well the race directors managed to give the British fans a win by a British driver. 10 seconds is an unusually harsh penalty unless your goal is to make Lando the winner.

Aside from that a great race with lots of action. Many drivers looked out of their league while others shined. Very happy for the incredible Hulk and Sauber.

Also a good result by Aston Martin. Rain is the great equalizer when your car is a POS.

Agree 100%. We can't just give Piastri a pass, his mistake. Learn from it.

Absolutely. He slowed down from 218 to 58 km/h in a few seconds by applying 60 psi pressure on the brakes. Dangerous move.

I love proper Brits but……seriously unlike. Actually hate. British bias at its best. Besides the Hamilton nutswinging when he was at Merc.

It’s not an excuse, it’s just basic knowledge. :D Your boy also had trouble keeping it planted. In fact, it was those mistakes that kept him from closing the gap and possibly getting third.

Perhaps you should read up on basic car handling to better understand what’s going on? ;)

I don't agree with that. I am a Piastri fan, but today he was at fault.
Piastri's penalty had nothing to do with race directors trying to please British fans.
Please, stop looking for conspiracy everywhere.
As the leader, Piastri didn't follow the safety car protocol.
Piastri caused an incident at the restart by slowing down instead of accelarating.
That provoked Verstappen to overtake him temporarily to avoid contact,
It's the stewards who made the decision to penalise him; some are not British.

Not arguing that Piastri was at fault or not (he was) but the amount of penalty seems inappropriate and given what it did it looks fishy to me.

William…..you’re a long time forum member, I enjoy your posts, and respect you as a fellow forum member but I must disagree with you here. Every…..single……safety….car…..restart…..has the lead driver slowing down to let the safety car go. If you rearend someone on the street, who’s at fault, you for following too close and not paying attention. Piastri is not responsible for driving Max’s car, Max is. I should go back in the archives to show how many times Max slammed on the brakes to let the safety car go.
Today was all about giving the British people that scene of Lando and his mom. Plain and simple. Piastri was robbed.

People will have their opinions as I have mine but. It is what it is. *shrug* (this site does need to update its emojis though)

Once the safety car lights are out you're meant to keep a constant speed. Once you go, you go. You're allowed to warm brakes/tyres before this.
Lights went out, Piastri gunned it, then braked HARD. In conditions where you can't see. It's bad in clear conditions, it's unacceptable in wet with loads of spray.

And I'm saying that as a Piastri fan who is disappointed that he didn't win today. The moment he passed Max he pulled a 14 second gap. It was incredible. Norris lucked into a win today.

So Piastri was behind the SC a number of times.....and he slowed down gradually. That last "brake check" was so excessive he literally stopped on the track after he picked up speed because the SC was coming into the pits and Max also floored it following him.

The stewards made the right call on Piastri.

What a great race but a terrible day for Ferrari. For Hamilton to finish behind Hulk in the Sauber.... Leclerc no where the entire race. Man, let's forget this one.

Oh the stewards just hand the race to Norris. If I'm Oscar I'm pizzed off.

Piastri also had a 10 sec+ lead over Lando when a safety car was called. A VSC would have sufficed but…….had to let Lando catch up. I don’t think even Max would be able to overcome losing 20 seconds of time and still win.

But as angry as I am about Lando being given the win, I’m doubly happy Nico got his podium.
