There are well known former F1 engineers etc saying the same now. Its ridiculous. Petty and its the pinnacle? Pinnacle of over-paid whining.

Focus on keeping the car on track and doing your job. Netflix turns this sport into Whining Driver Island!

Some of the rookies definitely talk too much.

But my favorite from yesterday was Carlos whining after Charles passed him.;)

You guys whining about the drivers whining is more entertaining. Drivers whine to cause a penalty at minimum. Especially in this era.

It’s equivalent IMO to flopping in soccer.

    Men shouldn’t act that way.

    SO true...
In both regards, my wife said to me, "How do they go home and face their wives/girlfriends after behaving that way???"

Its been awhile since I was in the Pro pits, but NHRA was always a pretty much drama free zone when I ran in the big events. Different kind of people. Most were regular guys

Many…if not most…F1 drivers today seem to be adolescents, emotionally. It seems to be epidemic among professional athletes in general.

Not that I’m aware of. I don’t watch NASCAR, do they cry like girls? I don’t remember hearing a lot of crying during LeMans. I’ll take your word for it since I don’t watch much but if it’s true it’s very, very pathetic IMO.

NASCAR drivers and their spotters have the best exchanges, almost no whining because they just even the score when they can. Yesterday in the Chicago street race, Alex Bowman had newer tires and was passing Bubba Wallace (they’re old enemies, and Bubba is a notorious crybaby). Wallace repeatedly bumped and pushed Bowman into the wall. Wallace got his car ahead, and Bowman’s spotter said, “Stay with it. We’re not playing nice with this motherfuc…” using the full word. Bowman then struck Wallace from behind, turning his car, then he pitted him at full speed, spinning him out. No penalties, no repercussions from NASCAR, just racing. It was a thing of beauty.

Well, most of them are truly children, or danged close. And they've been buried in their bubbles since they were 5. And they're washed up by their early 30s, usually. It's not like they have any sort of normal life. So yeah -- they're emotionally adolescent, unless they happen to be Fernando Alonso.

Most F1 drivers in fact don't "whine". They report to their pit faults committed by other drivers so that it goes on record.
Their team can contact the officials about it, if they failed to notice.
This is the age of video, telemetry and radio communication. It's now part of racing.
What is debatable, if if it's right that radio communications are shared with the public, and broadcasted.

    Lap 17: SCLights are on.

Lap 21: SC Lights are off. It's not like for like.

You can blame Max all you like but he was on Piastri's side and found the penalty ridiculous.

Basically what I said to cause a penalty to the other driver. Report another drivers infringement.

No blame but his closure problem is his alone.
Max did not disagree with it - the penalty. He found it strange. Its all about referencing Canada. The safety car lights went out late. Mclaren declined to pursue a protest knowing that. They could have.

"I only found out after the race that he got one (a penalty)," Verstappen said. "No one told me during the race.
"The thing is that it's happened to me now a few times, this kind of scenario.
"I just find it strange that suddenly now Oscar is the first one to receive 10 seconds for it."

You can see what's happening here with Piastri(Silverstone) and Russell(Canada) with the sudden stops when Max is behind....its to cause Max to actually pass the "defacto safety car" or lead car in order the penalize Max for the overtake.
