I don't have to press any buttons to configure the 296 to how i like it for driving except hit the qualifying button and sometimes bumpy road. I'm confused.

In the later models, mandatory nanny systems have been added and you have to disable them before setting off otherwise they’ll drive you nuts. Fortunately there is a shortcut button on the wheel to get rid of them but it still takes some effort and it's quite annoying.

hmmmm. What's later? Mine's only 9 months old. I configured ADAS to 160 mph for the speed warning on my first drive. I've only set it off twice. There's no auto-stop start. I'm genuinely curious here. Is it a European model specific thing?

this. mine was delivered a month ago. Has all the nanny stuff - I just turned up the ADAS mph and silenced the lane assist during my first drive.

I have that too, also a 10 months old car. In addition, it detects speed limit signs and makes noise whenever exceeded, plus another sound for not keeping in lane. It re-enables on every drive.

Doesn’t matter if I’m on the Nürburgring, it still activates and I had to disable it while going 160kph. I believe all cars after the 2024 factory shutdown have this, at least in uk/europe.

I never had auto start stop, there’s hybrid that uses ev only until pass a certain throttle amount.

I could not agree more. I have 19,000 on my Roma and I have ZERO problems/issues with the haptics' on the steering wheel or anywhere else on the car. If this is the only strife with a new Ferrari it must me a perfect car.

I've got over 5k on my gtb since the end of March. I'm controlling myself now to just limiting my distance driving to once a week. It went up to 140 mph for a brief second last week. My ears popped for some reason though it was a straight and flat stretch. Strange.

$410,000 USD base price....I removed the VAT. Looking at the standard (in the UK) features, the exterior carbon will add another 30-50k. If you don't go non-standard paint...USD (no tariff) its less than $500k!

Hmmm. My 296gtb AF without exterior cf and not much interior added, and with a launch color and AF stripe is $494k. I’d expect a bit more.

I understand that, but I’m not expecting it to translate that low. There will be different standard options.

In the UK, 296 VS is 37.5% more expensive than 296 GTB. If we apply the same to US pricing (343k for GTB), we get $471k.
I don't know what the tariff situation will be by the time these cars start hitting US shores but it could get ugly real quick.

UK base pricing of a 296GTB is 260k pounds which is equal to 342k USD. Base (non VAT) price of a 296S in the UK is 300k pounds or 40k greater than the 296 GTB in pounds (260k). If that is +15% greater....thus, in the US the base price on the 296VS should be $342 plus 15% = $393,000.
No idea about standard stuff nor tariffs. On the UK standard options list it does appear well specced from Ferrari. That would make your non crazy optioned 296VS in the high $400s.
Feel free to check my math.

I believe 260k includes VAT. 296VS is 360k including VAT, so 38% difference.

I did have a typo above but I believe the math is right. Look at his screen shot....297,000 pounds = $403,000 dollars. That doesn't include any taxes (vat, tariffs etc). Thus the base price of the 296 VS in the UK is equal to $403,000 USD.

In the UK the base price of a 2025 296 GTB is 241,000 pounds. The base of the VS is 297,000 pounds....thus, the VS is 21% greater. (I used 2024 prices before). The base price of a 296 GTB in the US is $342,000. 21% price increase for the VS would make the 206 VS in the US $414,000.

Conclusion the US base price should be $414,000.

Again, who knows!? I believe the math is right.

I asked chat to compare base prices in the US no vat or taxes. (using USD vs Euros and Pounds)
Ferrari 296 GTB – Base Prices (Pre-Tax Comparison)

Region Base Price Converted to USD Notes
USA $338,000 USD $338,000 No VAT included, base MSRP only
EU €276,000 EUR ~$298,000 Approximate; excludes ~20% VAT
UK £241,000 GBP ~$310,000 Approximate; excludes 20% VAT

heard on the production version of F80, even the capacitive start stop on the wheel that they show will be replaced as a proper aluminum touch button - here's hoping the same comes to 296 - i never really minded the capacitive touchpad, but it always felt a little meh starting the car with a capacitive button!

Exciting to see these low US prices but unfortunately we will wake up quickly when Ferrari announces at 450-500K MSRP. 414K is silly talk.

My MY 25 has a different steering wheel than my 24. Still not buttons though (FY 26). MY 25 also added lane keep and that new ADAS "button". If you set the button to custom and choose it, it will stay set so no further action needed. I laugh at the lane keep because it has as many safety features as a minivan.

Mine is similar, I set it to custom but it's asking me every time to confirm the custom setting, I wonder if I am doing something wrong, honestly the most annoying thing about the whole car.

I have confirmed the starting prices from my dealer (middle east). 296GTB was $340k while speciale is going to be $462k. A 36% increase... I feel a tiny bit scammed compared to you guys.
