This 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO won the award for "Best of Ferrari" and the prize was assigned to its owner, Giovanni Venturelli.
Unfortunately not. I noticed the owner has probably Parkinson's disease as he was barely able to drive it... In fact, the passenger helped him to turn the steering wheel when manoeuvring, since it is not servo-assisted.
Sad to read that. Thanks again for the pictures, they makes my day. This event looks nice, I like the multi brand. Your pictures with the maserti, Ferrari, Jaguar
There have been some big numbers recently on all of the F cars.. expected price to be in excess of 8.5 million USD.. pretty much in line with current market for these cars.. we have had a 6.5 million Euro car,( Manoir de l' Automobile ) a 6 million GBP car all sold, and now this one. The delta for the 288 has always been 2 - 2.5 times for a like for like car compared to an F40 so exactly where they should be.
This is same car listed earlier this year in Jan. Good discussion starting with post 15073. I called back then and Ferrari Central Fl was asking 6.5 mil. Looking through old posts vs new ad. It looks like they never sourced spare tire. Salesman at the time stated they were looking for one. Also Marcel had pics showing megaphone exhaust. Not sure where it wound up.

Curated say never restored and never registered, very rare for a 288 GTO, 40 years is a long time to own a car, must be sad to see her go.. I imagine a huge price will be asked, given where these are at present.

It looks like another "box" car but on this one the box is missing in the last picture. Those big tires really make a statement; especially in that rear view picture. 40 years seems like yesterday...
