Bought my 812 early this year and put over 3k miles on it. I love the car. I love getting the tires hot and doing some hard pulls. I often go CT and ESC off for this. First gear smokes the tire...love it. Second gear hooks up with hot tires and is absolutely brutal acceleration...love it. Third gear pulling power is kinda not scary and maybe I'm just used to it now.

I also really enjoy the handling and braking of the car. But I feel like that rolling acceleration I'm now looking for more. Maybe something that a 296 or 750 S could provide.

    Thoughts?

Find a local track and get some instruction...it's not the velocity that's thrilling...its the change in direction/velocity.

    Enjoy your 812!

Agree, and I plan to. Reality is >90% of miles will be on roads, which is very much the thrill for me is the power.

When it was new, I was the only one on this site to say the F12 needed more power. That was an unheard of comment to make at the time. I did so because you should always keep the OEMs pushing for more power in this class and because of all who say with every release that its impossible to get more power out of that engine.

You do get used to the power but that is to be expected. Just switch driving to one of your other cars for a while. There is no car like the total package of a high power Ferrari though. The scream, the smell, the sensuous curves. Find some great roads and enjoy.

I know what you mean … a little bit.
Agree 100% on driving something else for even a weekend, and then come back to it.
It’ll pull you in all over again.

I drove my wife’s 911 Targa 4S during a snowy stretch - when I got back into the 812.. it was glorious. And the 911 is an amazing drive by its own right too!

Beside my F12 I also own for 15 years a 997.1TT finely tuned with Protomotive in US AR, the car looks like a 1 inch dropped oem but all from brakes, coilovers, clutch, straightcut gearbox, turbos, cams, pistons, liners, connecting rods etc... is upgraded. With E85 this beast puts >1000 hp and 850 ft.lbs on the road.
Of course it is frightening fast, kills the F12 and hard to get used with its power but the Ferrari is more magical, the Ferrari V12 total package as said Solid States!
To say the race for power is not the lonely key for automotive happiness, the emotion is.
In the same feeling I prefer the Ducati Panigale V2 1299 over the faster V4 or a BMW S1000RR, a bit slower but more "visceral"!
