458 italia video

Hello 458 lovers

I have been working on this video with my 458 italia 2011 for the last couple of weekends, and I am pretty happy with the results, the audio setup was quite complex but I think it pays tribute to this exhaust note

That’s the setup on my ‘11. Sounds awesome! Thinking about getting 200 cell cats if I can find some good used ones.

That was an awesome video!! Nicely done!
The only criticism I have is that maybe the music was a tiny bit too loud. I feel like it would be more dramatic if the music was a little lower during the video with the engine exhaust more audible, then at the end, as the car drives into the distance, slowly raise the volume of the music (to it's current volume, or even slightly louder) as the car drives away at the end.
I'm not sure if it makes sense, or not sure if it would actually be better. It's just what my brain was thinking as I watched.
But overall, it was amazing! I'm sure it was a lot of work, congrats!

 

AS mentioned the sound is music to the car. My 15 458 Italia is incredible with the stock exhaust & valve setup. Of the 6 Ferrari's that i've owned it is in only one that has not had any after market exhaust. It will be interesting if you do the 200 cell cat without any cell issues etc.,plus improve the stock perfection you have already.

 

What did you end up using for your audio setup?

 

I’ll be getting the ecu’s reprogrammed by 360Trev so there will not be any cel issues. The 200 cell cats won’t change the pitch or tone, just turn things up a notch. This is my 11th Ferrari and I usually leave them all stock. Just unplug the valves. I’ve done the same as the OP on this car and had the Forza controller installed.

 

2 mics, one near exhaust one in engine bay on the air box. - 2 Rode M5, -20 DB reducers, Zoom H4n

Awesome video! What mic did you use? I just slapped a GoPro on and filmed this on Monday. My first time doing it so it basically horrible. Bad camera angle, the internal mic is way worse than I imagined, and it doesn’t handle low light well at all. I’m thinking maybe the iPhone 17 pro that’s coming out in September might be a good and simple solution to get pretty good video AND sound. I’ll reshoot this at that point.
