anyone know the timing for the filming day testing on Wed 16 July at Mugello circuit? also if there's any tips to see the car out on track on some public access areas?
just so happen to be nearby the area on the day.

Can't help you there. Just thinking back of the Covid days and the races at Mugello. At least one good thing that came from those years. I wish they had kept this track in the F1 calendar, was absolutely spectacular and gave us some great racing (including some controversial red flag restarts). I've played the track on XBox and love its flow.

Zhou and Giovinazzi are in the SF-23 today at Mugello.

Hamilton and Lewis are tomorrow and will do 100km each.

Hamilton and Lewis? What, you're splitting him in half? Is this like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

Goals for the test via The Race.com:

--It is suggested that the changes are primarily aimed at creating more space around the gearbox to allow for greater damper capacity, which will then help improve ride-height control.

If that works, this will not only allow Ferrari to set up its car so it can run closer to the ground where more downforce is produced, but it could help its drivers move away from extreme set-ups that they have been forced to adopt to overcome the car's weaknesses.

Leclerc was first to opt towards a more oversteer-biased set-up, with the aero balance further forward, because it was the best way to limit the danger of the back of the car bottoming out as well as to deliver a better compromise between high- and low-speed corners.

More recently, Hamilton has found himself edging closer to the Leclerc settings too as it has proved to be the best way to extract pace from the SF-25.

If the new suspension delivers what is hoped, then both drivers should be able to move back towards set-ups that they would consider more normal.

And this is why any gains from the suspension tweak should offer two positives - because as well as hopefully unlocking laptime, with the car able to run in a more optimal performance window, there could be good gains for the drivers too if they have an improved feel.--

I have read a couple of reports that this rear suspension upgrade is good for a tenth on the track. That's right, a tenth.

We won't know till after Spa because Spa is a Sprint Race weekend and they only have 1 FP to get the setup right.

Don't filming days have certain restrictions, so that it can be a real testing day?

    In qualifying.....yes.

In race pace, Ferrari needs half a second to stay up with the Mclarens.

Absolute best case scenario speculation is IF the new rear suspension works as they need, the rear ride height can be run a tiny bit lower than they've been lately, more downforce, 2 more tenths or so. Still won't beat Mclaren and Mercedes will still likely be faster at cooler circuits and Ferrari about the same or possibly a touch quicker a hotter circuits

They're all still hitting suspension work hard for the benefit of 2026 cars which will have less floor downforce meaning suspension, especially mechanical low speed traction, will be paramount. Constant experimentation.
