You say that, but when I took my friend's SF90 for a day I came to the conclusion that if they were priced the same, I'd still get the 296.

Case in point, at my dealer we had an AF SF90 w/carbon wheels and only 3000km asking "just" $370k and I still skipped. In fact I'd rather pay more and get a Pista, an objectively worse car on paper.

I also think that’s how we get played. If it was too easy, it would be less desirable. We want what we can’t have. Human nature. IMO.

I’d be very surprised if you don’t get an allocation for a few reasons. Firstly, overall car sales aren’t going that well in at least a few markets. Secondly, it doesn’t appear to be a limited car - at these prices why would they limit it. Thirdly, even on halo cars like the F80, I know one case of a customer who expressed interest in the F80 and was approached a few weeks later and asked if he was serious - if he was they thought they could get him a car. From what I understand he didn’t meet the so called criteria but did have the cash.

Same, decided to pass on the offer. It’s overall an incredibly nice car but ultimately, new Fcars aren’t my style. I haven’t purchased any of the new crop beyond the F8. Congrats to those who are pulling the trigger tho, it IS beautiful and will most likely be the best to drive.

Could be, though in this case, I know the salesman very well. He's a straightforward guy. And he knows he doesn't have to sell me on the car. I think if he had an allocation available for me, I'd know.

On the other hand, I'm here on FChat defending notions of exclusivity. So maybe I'm an unwitting marketing pawn. :p

I hope you're right! A very knowledgeable personal friend has said the same, so I'm optimistic.

It'll be incredible for sure. Considering your customization of the TDF, I'm surprised you haven't ordered a new TM car?

I’d love to when the right car (for me) to do TM comes along. I’m currently stuck in my old ways and have so far not crossed over into hybrids and batteries. That might change in the near future as I believe I’m fighting a losing battle and resistance is futile…lol. The most recent car I’ve added is a fully Ad Personam STO… close to 600k including taxes which is tad bit overkill I have to admit, but you only live once they say!!

After having an SF90 Spider and now taking delivery of the 296GTB, the hybrid thing is a no brainer. It's where we live now, and I like the option of arriving quietly back home.Aside from that, you never even notice except for the insanely fun torque!

I've noticed when I'm at highway speed in 8th and I press the pedal to downshift (it needs long travel to downshift) the revs go up and all the noise is there but there's this momentary surreal experience where the car seems to say "you sure about this"? and then the boost and electric power kick in and it just takes off like the space shuttle, as if I've just entered another dimension lol. Maybe it's my driving style? I think the rate of speed the pedal is pressed down makes a difference. I'll try to see if I can experiment with this today on my weekly long distance drive. Every drive is a new experience with this car and I haven't had occasion to take to redline yet to avoid committing a felony in CA.

So you make a kick down as with an actual automatic box ? why not driving in manual and downshift ? (that's a real question, not an attempt at criticizing)

It’s a fine place to live. I have a 458 Speciale and a 296GTB to drive. Different experiences, and yet so similar. Love it.

I've heard the automatic mode works well, I've just never tried it unless doing launch control from time to time. Once you get used to the downshift euphoria....you will be hooked.

I agree about the looks, but I hear the best weight are extremely comfortable, and are unique to this car and the XX.

Depends on your body shape. I find the best weight seat in the XX less comfortable and my back hurts after an hour in them. However I do think most second hand buyers would expect to see them in the car when you resell

the 296 vs is a lightweight car so to not get the lightweight seats which form a chunk of the stated weight savings makes no sense imo

I agree with what others have said. Regardless, I still wouldn’t order them. The regular ones look to cool- the light weight look meh. I just wouldn’t be happy.

Huge mistake imo - if you look at race seats in 355 360 430 F80 XX - why not spend the money to have something special / limited to the car.
Ordered in XX not to save weight but to make it special - all the older track versions with special seats make it much more attractive - you will get that ROI back all day long,

So in your opinion, the best weight seats will not be available in another model after the F80, XX and Speciale?
