Folks, I just bought my first Ferrari, a 2012 458. It just got loaded on the transport truck today and is on its way to me. Woooohoooo. I've been looking for one for many many months and kept flipping back and forth between a F430 and 458. With the flip flopping I missed out on two awesome cars that were for sale by private sellers. But oh well. I finally decided on the 458 since that is the model I always preferred to have. I found one. Jim
Great !!! Congratulations!!! Post pics when you get her! Always excited for 458 owners... the bestest car!!!
Congratulations! Enjoy in good health and make sure to look it over once the transport truck arrives, and have them take photos as well. I found a bulging sidewall on my 458 once it arrived.
Congratulations! The 458 is a vastly superior car. You’ll be happy. Please be a frequent forum contributor. The more time you spend on here, I think you’ll find it’s the highest quality automotive forum out there. jmo
Thanks Bob, As mentioned I looked at a lot of cars over the past 6+ months. I missed out on a couple of real deals only because I wasn't really certain of what I wanted to do at the time. I had to make a few trade offs on the car I finally am getting. It doesn't have the LED carbon steering wheel, which would be nice to have. It is the classic Rosso exterior, yellow tach and brake calipers, front lift and all black interior, with red stitching. I like the beige interior perhaps even more than the black, but that was another tradeoff. I looked at all sorts of exterior colors and there are some really elegant color combos (ext-int) out there. But like many folks I was really focused on the classic red, especially for my first Ferrari.
Congrats - welcome!. After 14x months of my first F-car ownership myself, I sill truly believe that the 458s will hold value over time and whatever one spends on it today, will still be worth what that much (if not more) when you are ready to move on.
I talked with the transport driver yesterday. The car is being transported in a closed truck and should arrive sometime today (Sun 20 July) or tomorrow at the latest. Woohoo.
