I’m still searching for a GTS. Found one that I really like. Perfect spec for me except for the seats— a big one, but it has Daytonas and I want carbon buckets. Is it stupid to even consider a seat swap? Can these be sourced from Ferrari? Salesman wasn’t sure but said each bucket from Ferrari would be $50k- so that wouldn’t work if true.

It’s a great deal of coin. You’re better off buying used seats and having them reupholstered. I did it on my 430 with 458 carbon buckets - looked great - still a pricy build - around 30k

  3. Keep looking.

With so many 296s on the used market, surely you can find another one that meets your spec sheet.

I have the carbon buckets, but I would consider trading for daytonas (+ cash)... but i would be concerned about updating the software for the seat controls and how all of that gets sorted out.

Do not purchase a car based on this statement, as I dont know if "downgrading" is even feasible.

I agree with the sentiment above - I’d just buy a different car and sell it mine.

Full disclosure - I have the carbon seats in my GTB and they look AWESOME but they aren’t exactly comfy.

As someone else noted here "the carbon seats are 90% style and 10% comfort".

So if I am between carbon buckets and electric seats, and want to use the car for tooling around town and short trips with the wife, you’d recommend the electric seats with heat and ventilation? I love the look of the buckets but they don’t have much adjustment. But resale?

Some people swear by the carbon seats and say they are the most comfortable. Others are happy with the greater adjustment and comfort the electric seats provide. Lately carbon seats seem to be the choice that the majority are happy with. Of course the carbon seats offer the size choice of L or XL for more of a custom fit. Really something you have to try in person as to which seat works for you and the passenger!
As for resale whatever you choose will please one person and disappoint another.

    150% style. I wouldn’t buy a car without them.

When I sold my 458 Spider with buckets- my dealer told me they the car sold immediately because there were very few spiders available with the sport seats.. The buckets in the 296 are even cooler than those in the 458. I expect the same to happen in the future.

  11. And the Daytona seats are 75% comfort and 50% looks for me.
