Would State taxes apply to the base + options before surcharge or after surcharge?

Just a guess but there already was a small tariff in place before this and CA always got their fair share after the tariff. I don’t see them unsticking their fingers now.

My guess would be taxed are applied AFTER the surcharge, just like when I recently purchased my Spyder RS and taxes were applied after additional dealer markup.

tariff is on the price of the car as it hits US shores....so that is with options.

sales tax should be on the pre-tariff price. Check with your state.

Are there any exterior Carbon pieces “standard”, like the engine cover..etc. Looks like the interior carbon door panels are standard on the car? I will probably go next week to spec and price, but unsure if I want to order one. I can quality for one under certain conditions…they have several 296 GTB/GTS that have been declined by customers..

I agree that it should be. However, it is likely that sales tax applies to whatever the final cost is to the customer with or without tariffs. Whatever that final number is on the bottom of the sticker, add the state sales tax. For high tax states the total of taxes and tariffs on the vehicle could be 15-20% of MSRP.

Tariffs are charged on the import price (considerably lower than MSRP) and are paid by by FNA.

The tariff surcharge is decided by Ferrari. They can handle it however they want.

I'd guess it will be on the MSRP, not the base price. But it doesn't have to be.

Sales tax is not due on the tariff (which isn't paid directly by the consumer) but I would presume it will be due on the tariff surcharge.

Right and higher specs could get close to $700k in the high sales tax states if the tariff of 8.5% gets applied.

Is tariff also applied against options? So every option is 8.5% more?

I don't know. The 8.5% tariff surcharge is a fee charged by Ferrari. It's intended, at least nominally, to help offset some of the cost of the tariff that they pay (I believe FNA pays it as the importer, technically). But it's at their discretion.

I would guess it will apply to the MSRP, including options. But that's a guess, not an assertion.

Unlikely. That’s listed on the window sticker as a separate item from the msrp.

Seems like some dealers are not aware of the 8.5% surcharge (mine isn’t). Several folks on this thread have better information than local dealer salespeople.

Sounds like this has already been debunked, “limited” only…similar to Pista production

I’d probably go for it if this was the case for me, I need to buy one of their customer declined 296s to qualify. So still thinking about it…

I don't have first-hand confirmation of the 8.5% surcharge, but someone posted a photo of the memo from Ferrari that listed it. And I'd been told about it previously by an independent and very credible source.

I just saw a window sticker for a recently-delivered 12C, which answers some of these questions:
    • Tariff Contribution is a line item on the window sticker.
    • The Tariff Contribution is exactly 8.5% of the MSRP with the options but before the $5,000 fee for Delivery, Process, Prep & Handling and $2,600 in Additional Costs.
    • Sales tax was calculated on the bottom line, which includes the base price, options, Delivery, Process, Prep & Handling, Additional Costs and the Tariff Contribution.
The good news: by breaking out the Tariff Contribution as a line item, presumably Ferrari would reduce it if the tariffs come down. Not that I'm holding my breath.

The bad news: that's a lot of money.
