My 06 430 started experiencing a weird issue with the door locks. After attempting to unlock the car via fob, the doors re-lock. Inserting the key in the lock will cause the door to unlock, but then it will immediately lock again and I’m unable to open it.

I was able to get in via the passenger door by unlocking the door with a key and timing the door handle. I then had to crawl over the console. I could not unlock the car from the inside.

To get the doors to unlock successfully, I had to turn on the car (which started the alarm/siren), turn it off, turn it back on, and then drive both forwards and reverse before the interior unlock button would work.

    Any ideas?

Maybe just one of the door lock microswitches has jammed and is telling the doors to lock?

    Is it working now?

If it happens again, try disconnecting the grey plug on the driver's side or just exercising the lock button.

The exterior key lock microswitches might also be causing it, but they will be harder to get to.

Have you had the doors worked on recently? Leatherwork?

Of course, it could equally be the microswitches on the passenger side.

When you try opening the door with the key, you need to pull the outside handle first and then turn the key

It worked for a while after I get in the car. After I went through the shift to reverse, drive a bit, shift forward, drive a bit, they started working (though they could have just started working on their own regardless and I’m correlating events that needn’t be).

    I haven’t locked it since.
Haven’t had any door work done ever or taken them apart. Do I need to take out the door card to access everything?

oh, this is interesting. Pull all the way (as if trying to open) and then engage / turn the key?

I think it is a way to get in, after getting a flat battery.
