He was a real favorite of mine. Such a terrible, stupid accident.

There are some great articles on him today, such as Leclerc remembering him; he was Charles' mentor, eight years older.

    See Motorsport.com for example.

    RIP

Reports said he didn't take notice of the yellow flags nor slow down enough, causing the accident.

Remembering the guy who screwed up F1 forever:: Red Flags for non-running cars on track--ship:: we used to have people run across the track to service drivers getting out of cars with other cars running by at full speed. Now, the slightest problem screws the whole qualifying setup and timing; essentially ruining the whole race (the next day). Safety cars blow race winning leads, and .....Grrrrrrrrrrr.

It used to be that qualifying was 1 hour (60 minutes and not a second longer), and you could program you TV recorder to get all of it. Now with weather delays and red flags, you have to record 30-45 minutes longer than the schedule. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Although I do like Q{1,2,3} format.

Sure I remember him--just not in the way you probably want me too.....

Yup. I remember him as a backmarker who badly screwed up, pranged himself, and fouled up F1 ever since. The powers that be are now afraid to even use the wet tire.

A very big talent, most probably would have driven for Ferrari, another victim of race direction incompetence and also bad luck....his deasth showed many things could improve and they did in terms of safety...Halo is one of them and probably saved his friend Charles at spa......

race direction made him drive 200+ kph under a FCY in the wet, losing control and slamming into a tractor? interesting.

Reports? I watched the race. Speeding under yellow in the rain. And because of him, anytime a car goes off the track, they immediately bring out a safety car.

Yeah, I remember him. And as someone previously said, not in a good way.

I know Andrew, and the fact that the person in question provoked me on purpose is no excuse for it. As always, the ignore button is your friend.
