Thanks Rodney 17x8.5 rear, 17x7.5 front Compomotive's 8.5 mm offset on both, no spacers. 255/40 rear, 225/45 front Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Stock ride height.
After wasting TWO tons of money in a full restore, I'm very produd to show you this '79 with with her "new" Ferrari original 16" rims Ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good looking car Alberto. I can never understand why more were not ordered with 16 inch wheels. Ignorance I guess. At the time there were good 14 inch tires available too.
Thakyou, Brian. The reason was the 16" rims were VERY expensive, at least here in Italy: in 1979 the 16" option costed 2M Lira, it means 6,5% of the car tag price. It's like 20 k USD today, more or less. Ciao
Spent last Thursday afternoon at a classic car show and shine. It was mostly classic American cars but after a few hours, an F430 showed up and parked next to me. Got a lot of comments from folks saying that they would take the older Ferrari Image Unavailable, Please Login
Perhaps it is my aging eyes. I think the 308 design has aged better than the later cars parked ahead of her.
I would agree. Style goes in and out and even back in over time if it was interesting in the first place. You can't make a boring design interesting no matter how far you move in the future. It might be nostalgic, but its still boring.
Literally every car Ferrari has produced since ending its relationship with Pininfarina has a juvenile, unsophisticated aesthetic. When you see a Daytona SP3 or 12 Cilindri in person, they look full-sized Hot Wheels. It's a product of the corporatization of the brand - they're building cars for crypto bros and Russians who are happy to tick off options like a $15k "hand-painted" (read: stenciled) prancing horse or a $20k carbon fiber splitter. Great for the stock price, a shame for the marque.
Agree with what’s happening style wise since they finished with the services of Pininfarina . They also getting too large . We notice this more in Europe. 12 Cilindri is almost practically un useable in car parks etc . Also the brand direction selling merchandise. Imho they are on the road to wreck the brand . They need to stick to there day job ….sports cars . Certainly steer away from for hideous SUV s .
Is that a special, small-sized license plate on the 328? If the license plate on the F12 were swapped onto the 328, the larger plate would almost completely fill the front grill void on the 328 between the two driving lamps!
IMO Classic Ferraris are beautiful:modern ones impressive!( Many local club member owners have newer ones, and it pays to be tactful sometimes !)
The F12 has Belgian dealer plates (Z...) but the normal plates have the same size. Not good for the cooling system !! I have positioned my number plate at an angle so that the wind flow is directed towards the radiator. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, size is like old Italian front plate, Italian member could know years of these. Not street legal but all policeman who saw it didn't give me ticket ...... until today
Hard to do same in France because we have many "gendarme couché" on the road and this plate would quickly be torn off or twisted while rolling
