Untitled MY2025 296 $100,000 off sticker is a car issue Okay for your baby momma(s) perhaps, but not much else The New Mondial
I've done it 2x. Car was a hit with multi people walking over, asking if they could take a picture and hear the car on start up etc.
Market (and price) is king. Can’t argue with that. At the same time folks like me who love their 296 will cherish every moment of the thrill and maybe pick up a delivery miles example for a song. If paying over MSRP is the smart move I’d be happy making my moves in the 296 and not moving extra cash out of my account.
It's interesting you say that. I had the opposite experience with the Turbo S and 296 GTS. Despite its raw power, the Turbo S was just so restrained. It was a great daily driver, but the excitement was lacking. I'm guessing the GT3 is a much more exciting car to drive, and so I can understand your experience. For me, the 296 GTS has maybe been the most fun car I've ever driven. Maybe one day, I'll have to add a GT3 6 speed...
I had just watched this…well, tried to. Absolute failure on every level. Price, design, sound, soul. Huracan was such a great car and now this total miss.
a just purschased a gtb. receiving it middle of next week ….i am taking advantage of this amazing opportunity window because it will close soon
Mac only sold 106 F1’s. It was a failure… at first. It’s not unusual for great cars to get recognized later and in some cases much later. It requires skill to identify great cars before they are recognized as such. Or you can wait for the market to tell you. An F1 is worth $20M+ today. For years very few people wanted Porsche’s 911 GT cars. The past values reflected that. Eventually they were recognized as great cars and the pricing increased dramatically to reflect that. I remember back in the day when Dino’s were under $20K. They were considered crap. Now they are over $400K. We’re they **** then now great today? Price changes sentiment but the car is the same.
About the price ,the spyder version now with hard top + carbon packages will cost even much more as base
You’re correct that the F1 didn’t attract buyers but remember that in the early 90’s the global recession meant that even the wealthy were being cautious about buying expensive cars and the F1 was very expensive for the time. Luxury goods and car sales during that period were down over 30%. The original production target was 300 cars if I remember rightly.
Back in the day my 72 Dino 246 GT cost $14,000 out the door. My 73 Porsche 911 T -(Kelly Green) was $9000. i hated the Porsche initially until my service manager at Reeves (Tampa Fl.) introduced me to Peter Gregg( #59 Red, white & Blue)@ the Paul Revere/Daytona Raceway & set me up for apt @ his Dealership at Jacksonville Porsche. When i returned to pick up the Porsche approx 10 days later, Peter a race car driver showed me what it could do. Fitted with a Bursche exhaust system, suspension set up, worked over mech injection etc it was truly amazing how what I thought was nothing more than a Super Beetle became a real Porsche. ( yes the 73 T was the only model at the time that had the mech. injection system on the 73 models. The Dino was sold in the 80's with very favorable memories.
I've said this before and I will say it again here. The fact that the 296 is suffering a steep depreciation curve is an indisputable fact. If you're denying that, then you're just choosing to be ignorant. But the fact the 296 is depreciating does not, and should not, detract from the fact that it is a splendid car. A car that Ferrari and all of its owners should be very proud of. Depreciation is not indicative of the car's engineering prowess, nor vice versa. Get it @todd cloud ?
I don’t people are just scared and resistant to hybrids. I think most people will agree that the 296 looks and sounds and drives better than an F8.
The Mondial had the performance of a hopped up VW- but frankly was and is IMHO a good looking Ferrari. The 296 is the best looking of the reg production cars Ferrari makes currently and runs with cars multiple its value. The 296 Speciale won’t help its values either. This is merely a supply and demand issue- something McLaren has gotten burned on more than a few times. The secondary market prices are reflecting that and frankly good things come to those who wait. Scarf one up when the price is right- I’ll make mine a GTS(seeing a few below the $400K mark already)
