You're right about that, he curse everybody out on the radio and throws the team under the bus every race.

Seeing how much you talking about him, you care about everything he does. Also what is a celebrity event? I've never seen a celebrity event. Usually an event has a name and function.

Yeah he has no life. Those are responsibilities. All he does is race video games and go race cars. That guy is dull as they come.

While driver points and manufacturer points are posted, merch sales totals are not. So it's hard say if Hamilton has been a success or not. Remember, Ferrari signed Hamilton as a brand and as a race driver.

Not all sportperson, want to use their notoriety to become influencer, virtue signaler, fashion guru or push social issues. In fact many, prefer to stay away from such activities. They just do enough PR to please their sponsors and the public, but don't go beyond that. Does that make them boring ? Hell no !!!

    it makes them smart.

Being famous is intensely overrated. Even the biggest narcissists who set out to become famous quickly come to regret it. Any form of privacy is GONE.

Valentino Rossi, the multi-MotoGP champion, was more clever.
He registered his name and created his brand of apparel and memorabilia: VR46.
When Honda tried to take it over as they were renewing his contract, Rossi refused, and lost his ride.
Yamaha accepted his conditions and took him onboard.
For the rest of his 2-wheel career, Rossi marketed his own brand and carries on to this day.
Today VR46 even finances a team in the MotoGP championship.

To me some are boring than a sack of rocks. Nothing wrong with that. Some sportsman has more in them, they feel they have more work to do in the world. A wish to change, inhance or influence things that they feel are lacking, go into movie production, fashion, music, so many visions some have planted inside of them. I've heard some say "there is purpose and work to do until I die". Some don't have this. its ok, no wright or wrong way.

When someone spends half their life in F1, that "vision" of movie production, fashion, music and so many visions inside of them are limited to a certain degree. First off, Hamilton is to a lesser extent, "out-of-touch" with MANY MANY MANY others in the fields of-->movie production, fashion, and music whom have spent half of their lives or more in their certain niches to become very very successful.

Look at Michael Jordan. Has Nike to launch his own sneakers(since 1985 and has 40 styles of sneakers) and Jordan athletic clothing line because that's his niche and people identify with it to include his Jordan commercials back in the 80's and 90's. Very successful ad campaign. So successful the guy is a multibillionaire that he decided to "think-out-of-the-box" and open up his own NASCAR team in a predominantly Anglo-American motorsport of owners.

So Hamiltons vision, according to you, might burn bright but as they say: " That light that burns twice as bright lasts half as long."

Fashion? Hamilton should have opened up his own fashion line years ago with a good company that has a successful ad campaign. This FUBU, PhatFarm, Rocawear fashion is already long and gone IF he's already into that style of fashion pointed at a certain group of people.

Music? IF he's into rap-music and wants to go into that style of music, he's already a day late and a dollar short.

Movie production? So him and others did an F1 movie. What's next? Another car racing movie because that's all that Hamilton knows really.

I'd 100% agree with the first part. As to the second I truly believe they thought he might get a few wins for them but they know he doesn't have a chance in hell to win a WDC at this point.

Let's face it, in Ferrari's eye hype if first on their wish list and a WCC is second.

But that's only your opinion. People follow F1 for the racing, not to watch celebrities, I think.
You have strange criteria to judge drivers. From a talented young driver, Hamilton has turned himself into a clown, and a lousy preacher. If that's your definition of having a personality, good luck with that...

You can't separate the two. Celebrities go to sports events. If I watch a sport event, a celebrity may be there. This is nothing new. This doesn't bother me, as long as they don't stop the event. Nobody can put Sir Lewis Hamilton in a box to be only a driver, and do nothing else. That would be unfair, unfair to any human, let alone sportsman. Sir Lewis Hamilton is still employed in F1 and others campaigns are still going, still gets endorsements. That tells me that there is only a few who thinks he's a clown. Which to be honest is, the correct amount it should be. All drivers have a percentage of people who dislike something about them.

Lebron James once said he's the "Goat" of basketball and many reputable sports analyst and basketball players have debated with others on such topic only to refute such claim. No matter how many stats or era regulations you throw at the "Lebron James" aficionados, they will always defend Lebron James.

Plus Lebron is a stat padder. His career is built in jumping from super team to super team and the fact he's been around so long to rack up all the stats. People ignore all evidence that suggests he has been on EPO and who knows what other PED's to help him in the process. But the NBA made him the face of the league 20 years ago and they've been milkin that cash cow ever since. Of course they push the narrative he's the greatest because of his stats and it helps the NBA make tons of money. Sounds a lot like Lewis hey?
