This was donated to the McPherson, KS automotive restoration college. Go the the 19 minute mark to see the unveiling.

This is pretty amazing, also good to see there is a restoration college for students. Well done, beautiful Daytona.

This is what it looked like last summer, while I was there for a couple of workshops. I believe the paint is original here, plenty of patina, no idea if it had been repainted before display. That building was under construction while I was there and we saw design concepts showing cars hung from the ceiling, I hope that doesn’t mean they’ll never get to come out.

I would hope so too and better yet, hopefully they'll eventually invite every student who worked on it & offer them a opportunity driving it more than just around the campus or something, so they could "learn" directly what the fruits of their combined labor accomplished.
Perhaps even allow each to drive it enough that in few years the car can become a candidate for another restoration, hence providing more hands-on experiences for future students, not to mention an opportunity to see & document how the workmanship of previous, i.e. these, efforts held up in practical terms.

Or if they ever sell the car, hopefully it will be accompanied by an extensive "before, during & after" photo-documentation file, allowing the next owner to gain &, if they chose to, provide good insight to the extent and quality of the workmanship performed/taught at that college/program.

OTOH, there is some saying about hoping or wishing into one hand and ...

It would be a shame if it remains as a static display, even with an open hood...but then the shocks will fail.
CC is available, but it is a lot of speech, and a little car :)

All this ^^ is obviously based on assumption the car, i.e. Daytona (in the video), has been "restored" by the students or at least received major restorative work from them prior to being hung up.
Has it or is it just waiting for it to be done in the future ?

Daytona will be hung for the foreseeable future but will come down, along with the Healey 100M, to rotate cars out.

About the car: Not original paint (resprayed in the early 70‘s, spidercracking), retrimmed interior but is matching numbers. Has not run in quite some time. I do not know if the plan is preservation (although the car is not original), or slowly restore. We did compression test and the motor turns over freely. Rebuilding of carbs was on the docket but graduated before that happened and has not been touched since
