Modern F1 has gone overboard with the red flags.

Schumi and gang raced in borderline hurricanes, and nobody thought anything of it. Now, these kids can't keep their cars straight in even steady showers.

Problem is not the water on track but the spray. The cars have grip enough to race, but the spray keeps hanging above the track between the trees and so the drivers do not see anything.

You know what would help dry the track out? Circling some F1 cars on it at a decent speed.

    Agreed.

Or do what NASCAR does......have several pickups with turbine engines attached to them and "heat and blow" the rain off.

this happens almost every year at spa, you'd think they change the race date to avoid this.

I always thought F1 rain races were epic... guess F1 thinks I'm wrong.

    Me too.

This venue though I believe it's more of a liability issue with regards to the venue and the FIA.

    Theatre of the absurd:

“If it’s raining hard enough for full wets it’s raining too hard to race.”

So, why do full wets exist?

    ”………………………………….”

That’s some catch, that Catch 22.

Since the total failure in 2021 at Spa, the FIA hasn't come up with a solution in case of bad weather.

The courageous decision would be to take Spa off the calendar.
