They’re giving the masses what we want vs boring, to long of games and season, MLB.

Most of us want to have fun and laugh!

 

Seattle resell prices are $550 per ticket MINIMUM! Now that’s crazy!

8 seconds of action, jam packed into a 3-hour window....

 

And yet, they put 44,000 in the seats at Citizens Bank Park recently.

Apparently they're amusing to watch, and folks will pony up the dough, maybe once or twice, to see them.

Have you ever been to a Globetrotters game? You think, as a team, they could beat the worst team in the NBA? Not a chance in hell. Scripted basketball, kind of the dribbling version of wrestling. At least the Bananas don't seem to have a clue how the game will turn out.

I think that is the point!

 

They sold out Raymond James Stadium( Tampa Bucs)the whole place was full .... seems to me a lot of people love them. I see games on in bars/resturants now. I personally think they are cool, fun, hilarious, they do play ball and getting kids into it is great for the sport.

The guy that started them...it is really good to see someone's wacky dream work out and become so successful. I love seeing people wildly succeed.

 

Wait until an hour before the game....

I've seen footbhall tickets for $850 a week before 'the big game' go for less-than face value just before kickoff...

Over the years a lot of the HGT were former NBA members.

If you were to throw out the 3-pt shot, I would bet you they COULD beat
some of today's NBA teams.

I played hockey in an adult league here back in around 1980, and the
league also had some former NHL'ers playing, they could score at will
and there was nobody that could stop them.
But, these guys knew this, they just enjoyed skating, and went out-of-their-way
to teach the other guys how to play 'better', and they almost always passed the
puck as opposed to taking shots.

I recall only one time when one of the NHL'ers got pissed when a clown tried to
take out his knees, he responded by scoring 8 goals in about 5 minutes... and
he never did that again.

 

I think less than a half dozen were NBA players. Two that come to mind are Connie Hawkins and Wilt Chamberlain..

10 game series, Globetrotters go 0-10. They were fun to watch, but they were not professional NBA caliber players. If the had been, guess what, they'd have played in the NBA. Only exception that I can think of is, again, Connie Hawkins who was suspended from the NBA when he played for them.

Never going to convince me that any single Globetrotters team (perhaps with the exception of the one year Wilt played in the 50's) would have ANY chance against any NBA team.
